Garfield Street Children's Centre

The programs at Garfield Street Children’s Centre focus on helping the children to develop in six key areas. That is physical growth, social adjustment, emotional growth, mental growth and development, speech and language, and interests. 

The educators work with each child to further build on their interests and skills in developmentally appropriate ways. 

The Garfield Street Children’s Centre curriculum covers all areas of early learning, including mathematics, music and movement, science and nature, and art and drama. 

The educators understand that there are opportunities to learn in everyday moments so include a mix of planned and unstructured learning in the curriculum. 

The educators at Garfield Street Children’s Centre are passionate and experienced. Many of the educators have been working at the centre for more than a decade, which creates consistency and familiarity for the children and their families. The educators come from a variety of backgrounds and speak a range of different languages. This helps them to relate to different cultures and create an inclusive environment.
