Nestled within the lush, heritage-listed grounds of The Infants’ Home in Ashfield, Gorton House offers high-quality early education and care for children from birth to school age. One of three co-located centres on site, Gorton House provides a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and grow through play and connection with nature.
As part of The Infants’ Home—a not-for-profit organisation championing children’s rights and social justice since 1874—Gorton House is committed to supporting every child to thrive. Our experienced and qualified educators design play-based learning programs tailored to each child’s interests and developmental needs.
We also offer integrated support for children with additional needs or experiencing vulnerabilities. Our team includes Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists who work alongside educators to deliver early intervention and specialist care within the centre.
In the year before school, all children participate in our comprehensive transition-to-school program, helping them build the confidence and skills they need for a successful start to formal education.
At Gorton House, we nurture each child’s development—cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language—through curiosity-driven learning and meaningful relationships.
