Welcome to ToBeMe Early Learning Five Dock

Welcome to ToBeMe Early Learning – Five Dock!

At ToBeMe, we ignite a love of learning from an early age, fostering a lifelong journey of curiosity and imagination. Guided by our ToBeMe Curriculum™, architecturally designed spaces, and a focus on strong relationships, we create an environment where children can play, grow, and thrive. Our approach integrates the best teaching practices from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and THRASS, tailoring learning to each child’s unique potential. We’re excited to announce that we’ve been named a finalist for the 2025 edition of the Inner West Local Business Awards!

At ToBeMe Five Dock, we offer exceptional opportunities daily in a purpose-built space designed by architect Sarah Scott, author of Architecture for Children. Our centre is a haven for exploration and creativity, combining indoor and outdoor environments that nurture social, emotional, and physical development.

Our standout facilities include:

  • Small focus-group areas and thoughtfully crafted classrooms.
  • Dynamic indoor and outdoor play zones fostering creativity and connection.
  • A welcoming library where children can read independently or borrow books for home.
  • A fully equipped Construction Room for children to design and create.
  • Rock and rope climbing, a castle, and cubbies for imaginative play.
  • Wet and dry sandpits for hands-on exploration and fun.
  • A Lego Room offering endless possibilities for building and innovation.
  • Private spaces for speech and occupational therapy sessions.
  • An on-site hair salon for convenience.

The New South Wales Government offers funding to provide families fee relief of up to $2174 per child aged three and above, and up to $515 per year for children aged three. This support is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees. Book a tour!

For the under 3’s

ToBeMe cares for the babies and toddlers in open-plan classrooms that encourage play and discovery. They have their own curriculum, which encourages children to become curious about the world through connections-based learning.

Within each of the rooms, you will find a stage and dress-up clothes for performances, blocks and games, a home corner with play kitchen, and many ways for the children to keep active. ToBeMe is the only NSW centre that offers a reading, writing and spelling program (THRASS) to children aged from just 6 months.

Each of the early years rooms opens up to an outdoor play space with real vegetation, grass, vegetable gardens and play area. Children take part in excursions to the post office, local parks and museums to extend their learning.

This modern design allows the children to move to various projects in different rooms through the day. They can leave their work project in place and come back to it later or another day. This teaches them that their work is valuable and not limited to a specific time frame set by the educators.

For the over 3’s

At ToBeMe, the Prep School program builds the confidence of the children as they prepare to begin life at school. The program is set up like a school day, and includes various subjects like maths, literacy and even robotics.

Running through the prep school curriculum is a focus on developing a passion for learning, as well as a connection to themselves and the world.

The goal is still to learn through play, and the architecturally-designed learning spaces give children every chance to find their own areas of interest.

For parents, the centre offers the convenience of on-site speech therapy and OT support as needed. This supports families as they don’t need to take time off work to take children to appointments. Children can even book in for a haircut or private music lesson at the centre during child care hours.

From your son’s very first day at just 5 months old, it’s been a joy and privilege to watch him grow into a confident, curious, and thriving little learner. Hearing that his first steps, words, and early learning milestones happened here is incredibly special to us — these are the moments we cherish most. We’re thrilled that you found our educational opportunities to be above and beyond. We take great pride in offering a rich and stimulating environment, and it’s wonderful to know that the LEGO and science rooms, music studio, hairdresser play area, crawl-in library, rooftop garden (especially the chicken!), and multi-level playgrounds sparked so much joy and discovery for your son. Our chef will be delighted to hear that the meals were a hit — we believe that nutritious, delicious food is a key part of a child’s wellbeing and daily happiness. Most of all, thank you for your kind words about our team. We are deeply committed to creating a warm, caring, and collaborative environment where every child is truly seen and supported. Knowing that you felt this care and attention through our daily updates and developmental insights is incredibly affirming. While we’re sad to see you go, we’re so grateful to have been part of your journey. Your recommendation means so much to us, and we wish your family all the best in your new adventure.

Thank you Emily! Your kind words about our cleanliness, structured curriculum, and spacious, activity-based layout really mean a lot. We take great pride in offering a learning environment that’s not only clean and safe but also engaging and dynamic — where every room is a new adventure, from the library and science room to the rooftop with our beloved chickens! It’s fantastic to know your daughter has built such a strong bond with her educators and enjoys her time here. We genuinely care about each child’s growth and happiness, and feedback like yours reassures us that we’re on the right path. We’re also glad you’ve appreciated the little extras — from cooking classes and haircuts to dentist visits and themed days like Grandparents Day. We believe these thoughtful touches help create a truly exceptional daycare experience, and we’re so happy they’ve made a difference for your family. Thank you again for your support and trust. We look forward to continuing this journey with you and watching your daughter thrive!
