Meet the team
The centre’s handpicked team has extensive experience within the early childhood sector. Staff retention is a focus, as they understand that this helps to build strong relationships between the educators and children.
The educators work hard to understand the children’s interests and skills, and then create programs that help support them.
Centre philosophy
![Centre philosophy](https://media.careforkids.com.au/_versions/contentblocks/au/6d91a524-75f5-42a3-a800-4e800970eb0a-Pram-Kindy-1600x1000.jpg)
Centre philosophy
Respect: the centre respects the traditional Aboriginal owners of the land, the children and their own diversity, and the families and communities that are part of the centre.
“We respect when we hold hands.” – Alayna (Kindergarten)
Trust: at the heart of the centre’s philosophy is the idea of building trusting relationships that are grounded in mutual respect.
“To ensure parents and children trust their Educators, making sure they are comfortable leaving their children at the service.” – Belinda (Lead Educator)
Patience: this is about helping children to begin to think critically about fair and unfair behaviour, and to remain accessible to others at times of distress, confusion and frustration. Patience is not simply the ability to wait, it’s how we behave while we’re waiting.
“To provide an environment where everyone’s input is heard and respected.” – Cherie (Director)
Kindness: the centre seeks to demonstrate kindness every day through their interactions and encourages children to do the same. A smile, sharing of toys, or offering a hand is encouraged every day to grow the children’s confidence and build strong relationships.
“Sharing things and playing with friends.” – Cleo (Kindergarten)
Creativity: the centre believes that fostering creativity in children is vital for their holistic development. Whilst being creative, children spend time practicing their concentration skills, fine motor skills and their problem-solving skills.
“Always planning programming on interesting things to allow the children to open and widen their minds.” – Jaymi (Parent)
About the curriculum
![About the curriculum](https://media.toddle.com.au/_versions/media/service_pages/3105/1R6A9790-1_service_page_img_md.jpg)
About the curriculum
6 weeks – 15 months
The babies enjoy a stimulating environment that satisfies their need to explore, experiment and observe. In the warm, interesting, stimulating and secure environment, the focus is on their development. The highly skilled educators develop programs that fosters children’s natural and inquiring minds.
15 months – 2 years
For the busy toddlers, independence is developed during this period of great growth and development. The programs are developed for the toddlers based on their own interests, ideas, strengths and stages of development. The educators support this age group with play based learning experiences to ensure they are developing positively.
2 years – 4 years
The children in this age group are naturally driven to develop and explore their independence and learning. Educators develop programs that allow children to learn through play based experiences whilst also encouraging learning about themselves and the world around them. This program equips each child for their transition to kindergarten and formal learning.
4 years – 5 years
The children take part in a school readiness program that helps them prepare to transition to school. The program builds children’s social and emotional skills with a good balance of curriculum and play based learning. Pre-Prep visits to local schools forms part of the school readiness program.

Our 3 year old has had terrible experiences with other daycares in the past so we pulled him out and had family watch him but circumstances changed and we needed to put him back into daycare. We were very sceptical of how he’d go returning to a daycare facility but Leading Edge Childcare - Kallangur have been very welcoming and our son now enjoys being at daycare again. We knew the moment we took our tour, that this daycare would be perfect. Though drop offs can still be a little difficult for him but the educators are always there to comfort him and we’re told that as soon as we leave he’s happy again and ready to play. We have nothing but praise for the educators we deal with and also for the management team. There have been a few staff changes (I know this is the case for all childcare centres at present) since we have started at this centre but this hasn’t had any negative effect on our son as he feels safe with all educators he’s been in care with. We would like to share our appreciation to the educators that have been in our sons room since we’ve been attending the centre - Mr Steven, Miss Mia, Miss Carly, Miss Sasha and Miss Annica. These educators have been consistent and so patient with my him. He can be quite a shy boy, but you can see each day he is coming out of his shell more and more. He’s becoming confident in certain areas of his development and it’s clear his educators are respecting how he feels and not forcing him to do something he is not comfortable with. Each educator has helped my son in a different way and he is absolutely thriving because of this. We also want to share our appreciation to Bri and Sophie (and now Sheridan) - you’re doing an amazing job at running this centre! There are many other educators we see each morning and afternoon. They are always friendly and greet and farewell us each day. Not only do the educators make our son happy and feel safe, they also make us feel as if we’re a friend and not just part of the “job”. Our infant will be starting at the centre in the new year and we feel very confident he’ll be happy there as well. Read more
