About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Our curriculum is guided by respected national and international frameworks including the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, My Time Our Place, the National Quality Framework, the Early Childhood Code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. These foundations help us nurture a learning environment that is inclusive, holistic and respectful of every child’s potential.
At Dakabin, learning is grounded in the power of play. Through hands-on and open-ended experiences, children grow across all areas of development including social, emotional, physical, thinking and creative. Educators support each child’s wellbeing, sense of agency and identity by responding to their individual backgrounds, cultures and ways of learning.
Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
At Kids ELC Dakabin, we follow a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to early learning. We see children as capable and full of curiosity. Learning is shaped by their interests, questions and relationships. Educators support this by guiding and learning alongside the children. Through play and hands-on experiences, children explore, discover and grow at their own pace.
We believe the environment is a key part of learning. Our spaces are calm, beautiful and thoughtfully set up to invite creativity and independence. Children are encouraged to express their ideas in many ways, such as through art, music, movement, storytelling and imaginative play. These experiences help them connect with others and share how they see the world.
Relationships are at the heart of our approach. We know that children learn best when they feel safe and supported. They grow through their connections with educators, other children, their families and the natural world. Our educators carefully observe and listen to children, helping to make learning meaningful. By working closely with families, we create a caring and respectful space where every child feels confident to explore, ask questions and enjoy learning.

After other daycare experiences at previous centres, both my daughter and I were left traumatised. The week Impressions’s opened we booked for a tour straight away and I left in happy tears (and I’ve been on A LOT of tours). Not only is the centre absolutely beautiful and a toddlers dream playground, everyone who works there is so friendly and always welcoming. They let us know DURING the tour that they encourage risky play to build confidence and checked with me that was ok with us - it’s all apart of the fun of being a toddler! I’m glad my daughter is learning how to navigate her new world and body in a fun, monitored environment and I know she will grow up confident and sure of herself! Any concerns we have had have been addressed immediately by the centre manager Jane and I feel so comfortable to approach her - other centres I’ve never even seen the managers around! I cannot believe how well my highly sensitive toddler has settled in. I never thought I would have a drop off without her screaming and crying and therefore me crying on the way to work out of guilt. Now my daughter happily goes to her educators in the morning. When we pick her up now she doesn’t want to leave! The centre is also amazingly clean and her rate of sickness has been incredibly low in comparison to previous centres! Shout out to miss Lily and miss Trish, Violet absolutely adores you and I can’t believe how lucky we are to have so many wonderful adults who give her so much love and affection when she needs it (which is a lot by the way!) Jane, you do an awesome job and we have nothing but respect and appreciation for all the work you and your team do - you are fantastic. Ps. I love your white uniforms, they look comfortable and practical when working outside all day raising our babies when we can’t! 💜 Read more

Beautiful service that believes and advocates for each child deserves beauty! The service manager Jane is incredibly approachable and connects with the families by providing a happy face every day and a welcoming atmosphere. Seeing her trust her team and walk beside them to mentor them to provide the best quality care for the children attending is truly inspiring and wholesome for parents to observe each day. Wonderful environments both indoor and outdoor for children to explore and build upon their learning and development. Read more

Beautiful centre with only a handful of good educators unfortunately. So sad to see the same educator each morning more interested in paperwork then greeting my child or any child for that matter. No consistency or communication with staffing. No routines. Just chaos. The manager will tell you what you want to hear and brush you off when concerns are addressed. Staff wear white shirts and shoes that are dirty and discoloured. Silly uniform that looks unprofessional. If you want to be professionals and be treated like professionals it would help to dress like professionals. Overall not much to be impressed about. Read more

I wish I could give them 5 million stars… Impression is more than a childcare but a family. It’s a fun, safe, happy educational environment for growing young minds. The have exceed my expectations and have gone above and beyond to make us comfortable and apart of there family at impressions. The daily programs and activities meets your expectation as a parent while still allowing your child to be a child, which is a huge must for me. I love the diversity in educators, and the educators are always vibrant and have great communication with parents, families and with daily updates. Highly recommended! Read more

The staff seem very friendly until you begin to question their policies and procedures about the care of your child. In addition, this centre encourages "risky play" meaning jumping off ledges onto precisely placed mats to teach risks to children, so they come home with bruises, scratches and injuries, all part of their "risky play." Staff are not very communicative with parents especially around incident reporting and attempt to pass the blame or say that your child's educator who saw the incident has finished for the day. If you try to contact the Operations Manager, Boe Hasanovic, the number rings out, and the head office number is actually this centre director Jane - to say the least, she can be very nice but can turn on you like the flick of a switch for asking questions about staff procedures and the wellbeing of your child. If you want a centre for your child and family to feel safe, welcomed, acknowledged and respected without the lack of communication, discrimination of children from other backgrounds and learning stages plus the lack of consistency of staff as educators in your child's room, then I would be looking at other centres who can provide a better experience rather than Impressions Dakabin. Don't be impressed by Impressions, just find somewhere else. Read more

We had previously tried 3 other locations but never found a fit. Our child has been comfortable since the first week here. The education provided is evidently shown through our child's progression. The facilities are clean and enjoyable with plenty to discover and rotate through their developmental experience. Each age group has their own playground/musical options at their level. The staff are always regular, consistently friendly, and they manage transitions at the speed of the child's ability. Thank you for the care you show, you have taken a stress away from our daily lives. Read more
