About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Our Educators support young children during this rapid period of growth and change through nurturing and responsive relationships. Our educators ensure that children’s individual needs for sleeping, eating, active and quiet play are met on time, every day.
Our environments have been strategically designed to allow Toddlers to learn, develop and explore, supporting their ever increasing sense of curiosity. Independence skills and choices are a key part of the day, building to a positive approach to learning and trying.
Our Educators support our Preschoolers to learn more about the world around them, and their impact on others Increased language skills leads to greater collaboration in play, and a greater understanding of differences.
Our Transition to School Program is designed to develop learning dispositions, providing a fluid transition into Early Stage One of the Australian School Curriculum. Increased social and emotional confidence supports healthy risk taking, making predictions and ongoing resilience.
Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
At Young Academics, we believe the first five years of a child’s life are critical for establishing healthy eating habits, exploring new foods, and meeting essential nutritional needs to support growth and development. Good nutrition not only enhances physical health but also boosts a child’s well-being, self-confidence, and focus.
We’ve developed our unique Nutrition Program in collaboration with a qualified nutritionist. This program is designed to help children understand the importance of healthy eating, hygiene, and physical activity. We encourage children to actively participate in meal preparation and serving, fostering a hands-on approach to learning about nutrition.
Our carefully crafted seasonal menu, which rotates every four weeks, is designed to meet 50% of your child’s daily nutritional requirements. It includes a variety of nourishing foods such as vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, chicken, dairy products, and more, ensuring children receive a balanced diet that supports their growth and development.
Kindergarten/Preschool Programs
Kindergarten/Preschool Programs
At Young Academics, our Transition to School Program is a comprehensive, carefully designed pathway that prepares children for the exciting journey into formal education. We understand that this is a major milestone, and our program focuses on equipping children with the academic, social, and emotional skills they need for a smooth transition.
Our dedicated educators work closely with each child, providing tailored support to ensure they feel confident and emotionally ready for the next step in their learning journey. We focus on building essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, while also fostering independence, resilience, and a love for learning.
Through a combination of structured learning, interactive play, and hands-on experiences, we help children develop both academically and socially, so they feel prepared not just for the classroom, but for the social dynamics of school life as well.
At Young Academics, we take pride in setting children up for a seamless and positive transition into school, laying the foundation for both academic success and personal growth that will last a lifetime.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
At Young Academics, we believe that strong partnerships between families and educators are fundamental to a child’s early learning journey. We prioritise open, consistent, and transparent communication with parents to ensure that every child’s individual needs, interests, and development are well supported.
Daily updates are shared through our secure online platform, giving families real-time insights into their child’s learning experiences, routines, and achievements. This allows parents to stay connected with what’s happening at the centre, while also opening up opportunities for meaningful conversations at home.
We actively invite parent involvement through events, learning celebrations, centre activities, and cultural experiences, because we know that children thrive when there is a shared commitment to their growth and wellbeing. Families are always welcome to share feedback, ideas, or simply spend time in our learning environments.
Whether it's during the daily drop-off, a parent-educator meeting, or a centre-wide celebration, our team is committed to building relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration.

At first it seemed like such a nice place, the people were nice, the place was nice, my kid LOVED it. Until I started noticing he was literally screaming and dropping himself to the ground so it’s harder for me to pick him up. Which is very, very out of the ordinary for my child because he absolutely loves people, no matter who you are, if you give him attention, he loves you! Well, one day I was late to pickup my child, and as I walked in. I heard one of the staff screaming at the top of her lungs “put that down and sit down right now” to walk to the windows were you can see in the classrooms, and yup. She was yelling at MY child and all he was doing was playing with a toy kitchen ffs. Months and months later after being told it would be looked into, absolutely nothing. If my child is being screamed at by a member of the staff, who’s supposed to teach him and make him learn. Then my child most definitely isn’t the only child this has happened to. Not to mention, there was SO many other staff in that room, not ONE person stood up and told that lady off. Not one person. Now I’ll be taking further action. My son is 3 by the way, not even I have ever yelled at him the way she did. It’s absolutely disgusting and so unprofessional. My poor baby. I can’t believe it, if this is the only thing I’ve been able to catch with my eyes, imagine what’s actually happening Behind closed doors. Read more

I am so grateful for our experience at Young Academics (Penrith Coreen Ave). It has been a wonderful start for my son, who was in preschool here and has now started school this year. He learned so much and really grew in confidence during his time at the centre. The environment is incredibly welcoming, and the educators are so supportive, loving, and caring—they truly made us feel like part of a family. A special thank you to the manager, Jessica, who is always kind, professional, and approachable. We’re truly thankful for the care and dedication shown to our son, and I highly recommend this centre to any parents looking for a nurturing and educational place for their children. Read more
