At Sanctuary Maudsland, this partnership is also supported through parent committee meetings, where families are invited to connect directly with our leadership team, share ideas and discuss opportunities for our centre community. This creates a genuine space for family voice and ensures our families play an active role in shaping the experience we create together.

A special part of our Maudsland Kindergarten experience is Bush Kindy, where children have regular opportunities to learn in natural outdoor environments. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and connection with the world around them.

Through Bush Kindy, children are supported to take safe risks, investigate nature, build resilience and develop a deeper sense of responsibility for their environment. It is a meaningful extension of our play-based approach, giving children the space to explore, wonder and grow beyond the traditional classroom setting.

As children prepare for school, our educators support them to build the practical and emotional skills they need for this important transition. From following routines and building friendships to expressing ideas and managing new experiences, children are encouraged to see themselves as capable learners.

By the time children leave Sanctuary Maudsland, they have had opportunities to grow in confidence, independence and connection, helping them step into school feeling ready, secure and excited for what comes next.

Mealtimes at Sanctuary Maudsland reflect our belief that children are confident and capable. Children are supported to take part in meaningful routines such as setting tables, serving their own food, using real crockery and helping care for their mealtime environment.

These daily rituals build independence, responsibility and confidence. They also create a calm, respectful rhythm around food, where children feel trusted, capable and connected.

Our chef is an important part of the centre community, with a role that extends beyond the kitchen. Through Sanctuary’s Chef Engagement Program, our chefs connect regularly to share ideas, refine menus and deepen their practice.

This strengthens the connection between the kitchen and each studio, bringing food and cooking into the curriculum in meaningful ways. It ensures nutrition is approached with care, collaboration and a strong understanding of the role food plays in children’s wellbeing, learning and sense of belonging.
