I would highly recommend Sanctuary Maudsland to anyone looking at care providers for their child. My son has been attending this Centre for over 4 years and has grown immensely with his learning and social skills. He has been consistently nurtured and loved by the educators following the passing of his father and I am grateful for the way it's being handled for him. He now has a great group of friends going to big school with him next year also - I'm very glad we chose this provider.

Programs

Programs

All included as part of the daily fee.

Gardening club: this supports children to develop new skills, gain confidence and have fun. While caring for plants, children learn responsibility and respect for the environment.

Junior chefs program: cooking is used to help build independence, and to encourage them to try new foods. Children explore with their senses, learn basic maths and science concepts, practice turn taking and most importantly have fun in small groups.

Community visitors: designed to give children a sense of belonging and identity, through special visits and excursions within the local community. They enjoy talks from emergency service personnel, connecting with and learning from indigenous elders, visits to local aged care facilities, swimming lessons, library visits, trips to the supermarket and more.

Sports program: With weekly incursions focused on ball skills, agility and working as a team to improving gross motor skills, hand eye coordination and balance.

Yoga, meditation & mindfulness: the children enjoy taking time out of their busy playtime each week to reap the key benefits such as the ability to develop greater awareness, manage stress and overwhelm, build concentration, increase their confidence and positive self-image, and feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group.

Sustainability & nature: Environmental Sustainability is a strong focus within the centre with children learning that they can make a difference by being involved in sustainable initiatives and learning to care for the land. The centre also has their own worm farm which helps to teach children about how they play a part in caring for the environment.

Music: Music is an essential part of children’s development, and they enjoy the interactive sessions that help develop confidence, memory, language and coordination skills. With music and rhythm classes for all ages.

Dancing: as children love to dance, the centre offers regular dance classes for children from 3 years. With a major emphasis on fun and creating confidence, dance encourages children to be free, release energy and promote happy endorphins.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The centre believes that all children bring their perspectives, expectations, knowledge and skills to their learning experience. The programs are child focused and inspired by children’s curiosity and imagination. Programming is based on observing children on a regular basis, evaluating their needs and interests and planning future activities from these observations.

The centre has a focus on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication, language, numeracy, social and emotional development. Much of the learning programs are based around STEAM, a curriculum based on education in four specific areas – Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.

The centre offers an Approved Kindergarten Program for children in the year prior to starting school. This is provided for at least 15 hours a week by a qualified early childhood teacher.

Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition

At Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure each child’s diverse and nutritional needs are catered for, with all meals cooked onsite daily by a qualified chef and provided as part of the fees. The menus are guided by the Nutritional Guidelines Australia, and in line with Eat Well Australia.

The educators make the most of meal and snack times to discuss food and produce with the children, and use vegetables grown at the centre in their cooking. Each meal time is seen as a time to come together as each room set the table and use real crockery, glasses and have the opportunity to pour their own water and serve their own food. Sanctuary Maudsland’s menus are thoroughly reviewed by Paediatric Dietitian and nutritionist Jodie Wilson from The Dietitian Studio.

My 2 year old son is enrolled here is has been enjoying the dolphins room. The directors and educators particularly Kim, Steph, Tressa and Kristy have been great in communicating with us on how our son has been going... socially and how he has been growing and developing. They have great activities setup on a daily basis and really try to get the kids to engage. A big stand out for me is that they have Chef Mandy working daily on feeding the kids from the in house kitchen. I would highly reccomend to do a tour and get a feel for the place.

Response from the owner 30 Mar 2026

🥰 Thank you so much, Daniela, for your thoughtful review. It means a lot to our team to hear how much your son is enjoying his time in our Dolphins room. We’re so pleased that the support and communication from Kim, Steph, Tressa and Kristy has helped you feel connected to his journey. Those daily conversations around social growth and development are something we truly value, and it’s lovely to know they’re making a difference for your family. Chef Mandy will be delighted to hear your kind words as well. Our in-house kitchen is such a special part of the experience, and we love seeing the children enjoy fresh, nourishing meals each day as well as moments cooking with Mandy! Thank you again for your recommendation and for being part of our Maudsland community. It’s a privilege to be part of your son’s early learning adventure 🌻

I can’t speak highly enough of Sanctuary Maudsland, both of my children have attended the centre and love it. The educators genuinely care and are invested in each child’s wellbeing and development. There’s a wonderful community feel throughout the centre with a centre pantry and community library, you can see the connection throughout. Everybody is so approachable and I’m so glad to have Sanctuary Maudsland as part of our village.
