About Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct

At Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct, we have created an early learning environment designed with inclusion, safety and connection at its heart. Located in Southport within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, our centre offers a calm, purposefully designed space where children feel supported, understood and free to explore.

Our environments have been thoughtfully created to support children of all abilities, with open movement spaces, quiet zones, natural light, soft sensory palettes and wide verandas that allow learning to flow between indoors and outdoors. Every element has been considered to help children feel secure, regulated and engaged in their day.

Our approach is guided by play-based, child-led learning, where children’s interests, ideas and voices shape the curriculum. We take a slow and intentional approach, giving children time to explore deeply, build confidence and develop meaningful connections with their educators, peers and environment.

What makes Sanctuary HKP unique is our strong focus on inclusion and support. Our team works closely with children and families to create responsive, respectful learning experiences, supported by our broader Sanctuary Model of Support and ongoing professional development in areas such as neurodiversity, trauma-informed practice and inclusive environments.

As a family-owned centre, relationships remain at the centre of everything we do. We value open communication, genuine partnerships with families and a strong sense of belonging for every child.

Children also enjoy fresh, nutritious meals prepared daily on site, using a seasonal menu approved by a paediatric nutritionist.

We offer long day care and a government-approved Kindergarten program, supporting children from their earliest years through to a confident transition to school.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

At Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct, our philosophy begins with a deep respect for every child as confident, capable and full of potential. Children are not expected to fit into one way of learning or being. Instead, our educators take the time to understand each child’s interests, strengths, needs and voice, creating an environment where every child can feel seen, valued and supported.

This belief shapes the way we plan, teach and care. Children are encouraged to explore their ideas, build independence, develop relationships and participate meaningfully in the rhythm of the day. Our role is to guide with intention, listen with respect and create the conditions for every child to thrive.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

At Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct, we see families as essential partners in each child’s learning, care and sense of belonging. From your first tour through to everyday conversations, our team takes the time to listen, understand and build a relationship that supports your child as an individual.

This partnership helps create consistency between home and the centre, ensuring children feel secure, understood and supported. We value family knowledge deeply, because no one knows your child better than you.

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Our government-approved Kindergarten program at Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct supports children to feel confident, capable and ready for their transition to school. Through a balance of play-based learning and intentional teaching, children build independence, communication skills, resilience and a strong sense of self.

We focus on the whole child, not just academic readiness. Children are supported to develop the social, emotional and practical skills they need to navigate new environments, build relationships and approach learning with curiosity and confidence.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

At Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct, our curriculum is guided by each child’s interests, strengths, ideas and ways of engaging with the world. Through play-based learning, children are encouraged to explore, question, create and make meaning in ways that feel natural and purposeful to them.

Our educators observe closely and respond with intention, extending learning through meaningful experiences that support each child’s development. This approach ensures the curriculum is not one-size-fits-all, but responsive, respectful and shaped by the children within each studio.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

At Sanctuary Health and Knowledge Precinct, all meals are prepared fresh each day by our in-house chef, using a seasonal menu approved by a paediatric nutritionist. This ensures children receive balanced, nutritious meals that support their growth, energy and wellbeing throughout the day.

We prioritise fresh, high-quality ingredients and create meals that are both nourishing and enjoyable. Mealtimes are calm, social and unhurried, giving children the opportunity to explore new foods, connect with others and develop positive relationships with eating.

I'm so grateful to have found Sanctuary HKP! Their heart-centred philosophy and values are truly changing the face of education within the sector. The team of educators are exceptional - warm, loving, nurturing, kind and dedicated. My little one adores her educators and thrives in the engaging programs and experiences they offer. I highly recommend Sanctuary HKP to any parent seeking a safe, supportive, and loving environment for their little one, or any educator who is looking for a place to call home. You'll feel like you've found your second family!
