Programs

Programs
All included as part of the daily fee.
Gardening club: this supports children to develop new skills, gain confidence and have fun. While caring for plants, children learn responsibility and respect for the environment.
Junior chefs program: cooking is used to help build independence, and to encourage them to try new foods. Children explore with their senses, learn basic maths and science concepts, practice turn taking and most importantly have fun in small groups.
Community visitors: designed to give children a sense of belonging and identity, through special visits and excursions within the local community. They enjoy talks from emergency service personnel, connecting with and learning from indigenous elders, visits to local aged care facilities, swimming lessons, library visits, trips to the supermarket and more.
Sports program: the centre’s outdoor play space allows the children to take part in active sports to get the mind and body working together in unison. Educators focus on improving gross motor skills, hand eye coordination and balance.
Yoga, meditation & mindfulness: the children enjoy taking time out of their busy playtime to reap the key benefits such as the ability to develop greater awareness, manage stress and overwhelm, build concentration, increase their confidence and positive self-image, and feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group.
Sustainability & nature: children learn that they can make a difference by being involved with the vegetable gardens and recycling at the centre. The centre also has their own pets and worm farm which helps to teach children about the life cycles of animals and how they play a part in caring for the environment.
Art & music: the centre provides each child with creative tools and experiences, extending on their own curiosities. Being creative involves nurturing interests, expressing ideas, and working with others to come up with solutions. Music is an essential part of children’s development, and they enjoy the interactive sessions that help develop confidence, memory, language and coordination skills.
Dancing: as children love to dance, the centre offers regular dance classes for children from 3 years. With a major emphasis on fun and creating confidence, dance encourages children to be free, release energy and promote happy endorphins.
About the curriculum
![About the curriculum](https://media.toddle.com.au/_versions/media/service_pages/3189/56371_service_page_img_md.jpg)
About the curriculum
The centre believes that all children bring their perspectives, expectations, knowledge and skills to their learning experience. The programs are child focused and inspired by children’s curiosity and imagination. Programming is based on observing children on a regular basis, evaluating their needs and interests and planning future activities from these observations.
The centre has a focus on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication, language, numeracy, social and emotional development. Much of the learning programs are based around STEAM, a curriculum based on education in four specific areas – Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.
The centre offers an Approved Kindergarten Program for children in the year prior to starting school. This is provided for at least 15 hours a week by a qualified early childhood teacher.

Meet the team
At Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure each child’s cultural and nutritional needs are catered for, with all meals cooked onsite daily by a qualified cook and provided as part of the fees. The menus are guided by the Nutritional Guidelines Australia, and in line with Eat Well Australia.
The educators make the most of meal and snack times to discuss food and produce with the children, and use vegetables grown at the centre in their cooking. Sanctuary Buderim’s menus are thoroughly reviewed by Paediatric Dietitian and nutritionist Jodie Wilson from The Dietitian Studio.

Highly highly recommend sanctuary early learning buderim. Our experience has been so amazing. The centre it self is so beautifully designed and the children’s room and outdoor play areas and so welcoming and inviting. The atmosphere you feel when you walk in is so calming and gentle and it’s definitely something my children love and need. Every single person that works at sanctuary from the director to 2IC to the chef to the educators are fantastic. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the warmest smiles and happiest hello how are you? They acknowledge my children as well saying hello how are you this morning? How did you sleep? My children really look forward to this interaction as soon as they walk in, my 2 year old son especially loves giving the ladies in the office a cuddle. Belinda, Sallie and Jess are so amazing and understanding. Anything issues or concerns they thoroughly listen to you and get on to is straight away keeping you updated with everything asap. My daughter started the centre when she was only 6 months old and she has the most amazing connection with her educators in the babies room. They are so incredibly loving, caring, gentle, calm, and nurturing. They treat all the kids as if they were their own and the way they would want their kids to be treated. She’s always learning new skills and gets so excited when she sees them in the mornings. My son also has an amazing connection with everyone in his room, with every educator in the whole centre. They all take the time to get to know him. If he’s abit sad in the mornings they take the time to sit with him and have cuddles and listen to him and just be there for him. It’s never rushed, the children really do come first in this centre. The food that’s provided by the chef is out of this world. My children absolutely love the food the chef makes and we even try make it at home they enjoy it that much. The chef even interacts with the children it’s fantastic. I have absolutely no worries or stress leaving my children at this centre because I 100 percent trust they are safe and loved and having the best day. They are always so happy to be there. If I could give this centre 100 stars I absolutely would without a doubt! Read more
Wow Samantha - thank you so incredibly much for this beautiful review. We work so hard to provide a space that creates curiosity and exploration at the same time as a sense of calm and peace. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of the learning adventure for both of your children - we love having you all as part of our Sanctuary family 🥰🌷

Sanctuary is such a supportive peaceful and nurturing space for little ones. Our child has been attending since they were a baby and we couldn't recommend enough. In fact, we have so many friends who put us onto them and their kids are still attending themselves, which speaks volumes of the care and environment they create. They look at each child as individual and tailor their approach to nurture their interests, the educators we have experience with are so engaging with the kids and you can see they love what they do, we have grown so close and as parents that means so much. The admin/front office team are amazing communicators and the food menu is always changing, fresh and nutritious! It's just such a happy place for a childs development, i couldn't recommend Sanctuary enough. Read more
