Aunty Bahira has played such an important role in both our children’s early years. She is so attuned to both our children’s differing personalities, and gives them the patience and care each needs. The way they both settled in at her care were done so lovingly. Especially when one of our children was very reserved and takes time to warm up to others, and the other is exuberant and can be quite firm with his choices. Both started at different times. She is creative and so resourceful with the kinds of learning experiences she exposes the children to, and she helps to imbue any matter of cultural importance that is significant to our family. We receive report back timely, with photos. Our children speak highly of Aunty Bahira and a lot of the habits they have adopted are from all the practice they get from her care (eg. They are used to sitting at the table at her place when eating, they understand when it is time to nap and when it isn’t time, helping us with toilet training). We highly recommend Aunty Bahira to all new families!

What I love about Bahira Family Day Care: - The structure and flow of the day meets to the needs of my child. My daughter was in care since she was 10 months old and needed naps and milks at certain times of the day. Bahira is very attentive to these needs and meets them without any issue. - Small ratio of educator to children (4young children per day) conducted from the comfort of her own home. The home environment is clean, organized and spacious. There is also a big backyard space where children get to play outside with sand, toy cars, bubbles and many other activities. - Bahira has an abundance of teaching resources that my child enjoy learning and playing with that is suited for her age needs. - Bahira is also very attentive to the developmental stages of my child, introducing to her numeracy, literacy and other many other gross and fine motor skills progressively. - The safety and well being of the child is always a priority. I feel extremely grateful and at ease for my daughter to be in Bahira's care. She truly makes us feel at home being cared by such a capable, experienced and warm hearted educator who treat my child as if she was her own.

Bahira brings over 25 years of experience, and it truly shows in the way she runs her day care — with consistency, care, and deep understanding of children’s needs. She treats every child as if they were her own, creating a nurturing and safe environment where they can grow, learn, and feel at home. Through play, she gently teaches valuable life lessons, and her calm, confident, and friendly demeanour is something all the children are naturally drawn to.
