Here at Mudpies & Dragonflies Family Day Care, my goal is to provide a loving, safe and nurturing home environment in which all children can feel safe, happy and loved while they grow, learn, play and explore each day. Like all approved Australian Child Care facilities, I use the Early Years Learning Framework and Being, Becoming and Belonging as my guide when planning and programming play, activities and experiences.
I draw from the Steiner approach to learning, incorporating seasonal based programming and spending much time in nature with the children. I have an open-door policy for enrolled families to encourage open and frequent communication about their children. I want to celebrate with you when your little one has reached new milestones, no matter how small they may seem. Share with me when they discover new gamesuor abilities and when they develop fears or worries, every piece of information you share with me can be used to ensure my program is child-directed and in line with your child’s abilities and interests.
I understand that your family is the most important thing in the world. I know this because my family is the most important thing to me. It is my mission to make you and your children feel that each time you come to Mudpies and Dragonflies Family Day Care you are spending time with extended family. I picture a day where children can relax, be happy and engaged in fun activities, rest, eat wholesome food and receive a high standard of care.
The environment will be safe and secure with a mix of outdoor physical activities and indoor art, craft, drama and music. Through play children can explore at their own level while I encourage them to do what they can for themselves to help them achieve their goals. I believe that children should be in a safe and nurturing environment that encourages harmony, excitement and laughter, while providing understanding and support of their individual needs.
I strive to develop strong connection and bonds between myself and the children. Fostering relationships and friendships within the group creates harmony and excitement. An important part of our program is encouraging a connection to our environment. Recycling, outdoor nature play, gardening and cooking from scratch are all life skills that we practice and model on a daily basis here at Mudpies & Dragonflies Family Day Care.
Laughter, love and patience are how I hope that your child will come to recognise that Mudpies and Dragonflies Family Day Care is their home away from home.
