• Worked as a team leader

Voluntary work
Stay and play

I have been volunteering at Lillington Children’s Centre since April 2010, helping to supervise stay and play sessions for children aged 0-3 years old . I carry out these sessions in my half term holidays. These sessions have allowed me to interact with families in the community and have a better understanding of how children’s centre support parents/carers and children.

Chatter Matters

I have also been volunteering at a neighbouring Children’s Centre since August 2010, supporting families with babies\ toddlers focusing on communication and interaction between child and adult, through a variety of activities such as rhymes, free play and story time. This has given me an insight into the high impact of early interaction and communication skills.

Tapping Primary School
Perth WA

In 2011, I was given a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working at Tapping Primary school in Perth, where I worked with kindergarten aged children. I was able to observe and participate in activities within the classroom and outside. This experience allowed me to see how the education system differs to the education system in England. It allowed me to see how much the environment plays a major part on young children’s learning and development.
