Interests

My philosophy…

Throughout my years as a childcare professional I have developed sound beliefs in regard to children and childhood. To me, the essence of childhood comes down to freedom of curiosity and the opportunity to explore their wider world within the realm of boundaries, security and safety. Children respond positively to being trusted as individual capable beings with clear expectations, and rather than serve them on a platter, I strive to encourage true independence in all aspects of their lives in addition to fostering the magic of imagination and self directed play.  Studies and experience have shown me that children require firm and consistent guidance to learn appropriate behaviour, manners and discipline, in regard to which I have a belief in natural consequences and reflection.

Children also need empathic assistance in identifying, managing and
regulating their varied emotions, within a secure caring relationship and environment.

During my time with children I encourage a healthy, active lifestyle and find that children thrive on daily rhythms and patterns. Through opportunity, understanding and guidance, I seek to help children develop confidence and capability in addition to independence; physically, cognitively and emotionally.

My Written Reference

Tahlia is wonderful, amazing.  She did such a great job with resettling the baby, getting bub to have longer naps, engaging the child in appropriate developmental activities.  Helped socialise the baby with other infants and was very helpful when the baby was ill.

Extremely confident with her abilities as a Nanny, especially with new mums, infants and mothers who are lactating as she was of considerable assistance to her with this also.

Very easy to communicate with, flexible if the mums work/home changed so mum was there to feed instead.

No reason at all for her not to be a sole charge nanny and she highly recommends her.

Talia is very reassuring, gentle with the Mum learning how to be a Mum and be working still.

Very experienced.
