Employment

2012 - Current
Part-time Solecharge Nanny / Before & After School Family
Jacqui Rose
Private Family, Western Australia

I have been working for this lovely family for the past 8 years where I have been reponsible for caring for her newborn babies right through to primary school age.  I have been an integral part of their development and growth and have built a very special bond with the family.  My responsibilities and duties over the years have included changing nappies, feeding, settling, organising fun daily outings and age appropriate activities, arts and crafts, stories and reading, cooking, ensuring they had everything needed for the day when attending daycare/primary school, preparing snacks and meals, school drop off and pick up, attending after school activities/sports, assisting with home work.  I also assist with the running of a smooth household by following a routine and carrying out household duties.

Volunteer Work

2006 to 2013
Volunteer Patient Companion/
Shenton Park Hospital

During this time I offered support to patients with companionship, company and someone to talk to.  Please see below for further information.

About Me & My Prior Experience

Arriving from Sydney in 1991 with my husband and four daughters, we elected to buy a business of which we owned for 6 years.  It was a very successful operation, being a franchise I participated in it's day to day operations.  After negotiating a sale, I elected to take time off, eventually to volunteer in looking after children and the elderly, which I love.  I was also helping others who sought companions in their recovery from being hospitalised after trauma.

I spend the best part of six years as a volunteer helping those at the Shenton Hospital in the Head Injuries Ward.  This I found very rewarding mentally and physically, seeing those patients whom suffered horrific injuries as a result of being involved in motor vehicle accidents etc.  My role was being a support to those vicitms, transporting from ward to other facilities in the compound.  I also read to them and kept them focused and positive about their recovery.

I have also worked for the Department of Education and for private families looking after their children from newborn through to teenage years.  I have found this to be extremely rewarding and satisfying.  During this time I also worked for Home-Instead which is a recruitment agency in Perth which offered services to elderly homes and being a support for the aged and frail.

My husband and I have since moved to Margaret River as we have a daughter and grandchildren here.  We love the lifestyle, and I am very keen to continue working with children which is my passion.

Interests

I consider myself to be confident, very pro active, able to take on new tasks and just adore working with children and the elderley.
