Experience in Child Care:   

Over the last 30 years I have held a number of different positions in childcare working with preschool and school aged children.  

I left my home country New Zealand to experience life overseas in England where I started my career as a nanny, and in the 6 years I lived in London I worked for 4 different families, volunteered in a school as a special helper, worked in a crèche, and ran a child care business with two associates.

Occasionally I worked on a temporary basis with a Social Service Agency helping the elderly and disabled.  I then moved to Ireland to nanny for over 2 years after which I started up a Home Base Child Care Business in Dublin with an associate. 

I moved to Sydney in 1996.   For 2 years I was employed as a nanny before opening my Home Base Care Business. 

Business Experience in Chldcare:

For 12 years I was a self-employed worker, working for 5 days a week running a Home Based Child Care Business situated in Turramurra Sydney NSW, licensed by the Department of Community Services.  

My role involved being the sole carer of up to 5 preschool and 2 school aged children. I dedicated my time to providing a safe, nurturing and educational environment for the children, promoting positive self-esteem and self-expression. 

I have a firm, friendly manor with the ability to adapt quickly to challenges and a changing environment. I maintain the areas for business in a professional way and comply with the child care regulations regarding health and safety.

Other business activities include preparing my own profit and loss statements for tax purposes and observational reports on the children’s progress.    

Approximately 7 years ago I became an educator with  a Family Day Care Scheme called Newtrain which is now called Multitask.
