Nurtured Beginnings

The experienced educators at Nurtured Beginnings are passionate about helping children in their discovery, adventure and learning. They are role models for the children and interact with them in meaningful and positive ways. 

The centre also values ongoing professional development and educators are encouraged to further their own learning. They participate in further training to ensure they are up to date with the latest sector research and theories. They also work collaboratively as a team to share their knowledge, experience and ideas.

The educators at Nurtured Beginnings respect the role families play in a child’s education. To support this, they work collaboratively with families to ensure they can provide input into the program. The centre has an open-door policy, with families encouraged to participate in the diverse and inclusive centre.

The curriculum at Nurtured Beginnings is inspired by the work of prominent early childhood practitioners, including Friedrich Froebel, Emmi Pikler, Loris Malaguzzi. It also aligns with the Early YEars Learning Framework and ensures that children have chances for “Belonging, Being and Becoming”.

In line with an emergent curriculum, the educators follow a child-centric, play-based approach. The children participate in hands-on experiences that enrich their learning. They also have opportunities to practise their social skills through interactions with their peers and educators. The curriculum incorporates both indoor and outdoor play, with the children encouraged to enjoy nature and the benefits of fresh air and sunshine. 

The aim of the curriculum is to nurture the whole child, across all areas of their development, including social, emotional, physical, wellbeing and cognitive skills. The result is confident children who have an understanding of the world around them and an appreciation for their role within it.
