About Great Beginnings Marangaroo

   12 ratings more

My name is Emma-Louise and I have been Centre Manager of Great Beginnings Marangaroo since mid 2013. I have been working within the Early Childhood industry since 2000 and completed my Diploma in Children Services 0-12 years in 2003 at the West Coast Institute of TAFE. I have had many opportunities within the industry over the last 15 years, including Assistant Educator, Lead Educator, Assistant Manager and OSHC Coordinator. You could say my passion for early education runs in the family. It first started when I used to volunteer in my school holidays at a childcare centre where my mother and sister were both employed at the time. From there, under their guidance I studied Early Childhood throughout high school and continued to further my skills with the completion of my Diploma.

Throughout my career, I have seen many improvements and changes to the practices within the industry and to the focus on each child's overall wellbeing and education. I have held varied positions within the industry providing educational programs for children aged from 0-12 years.

Part of my personal philosophy is that all children have a right to feel safe, loved and secure in their environment. I believe that all children are individual and each have their own unique personality.

I like to think of myself as an equal asset to our team along with the Educators I lead as we are all important and valuable in our own right. A solid team is the foundation for providing quality care. I feel it's extremely important to form close relationships with families and that we as educators work in partnership with families to ensure that each child develops to their full potential.

I feel privileged to meet each child that comes through our doors and hope that when they leave each day they feel special, confident and inspired. I have always said to myself that if I can make at least one child smile each day, I have achieved something incredible. There is nothing more precious than a happy child.

Flexible Hours

Our centre is offering Flexible Hours to support families to make the most out of the government’s Child Care Subsidy. Consisting of nine-hour, ten-hour, and full day options, the new Flexible Hours model will give families the freedom to choose which hours best suit their individual circumstances. Families will not be limited by start and finish times like other models from competitors, and there will be no associated fees or conditions around the minimum amount of flexible hours days they are able to access. I have two kids attending this daycare and I am really happy with the care the staff gives to my babies. It is really important for me that my kids can feel safe, that they can bond with the staff and be enthusiastic about going to daycare each day. I can see how much they learn in daycare and the relationship they developed with their teachers, I can go to work without worrying on how they are being treated as I know that they will be happy and if something comes up, I will get a call and be informed. I truly recommend this daycare and most of all, I recommend the staff that is taking such good care of my kids.
The staff are so friendly, organised and follow all the correct health, safety and hygiene procedures. The food is varied and there is plenty of activities and toys to keep my son occupied. Definitely the best child care facility I've seen and so happy with it that four other mums I spoke to have since enrolled their children! Just great!
