About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber
Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years
Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.
Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years
Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.
On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.
Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.
Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years
Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.
The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.
Throughout the Preschool year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.
Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Preschool year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.
Morning
Anita is 11 months old and enjoys sensory play outside in the sandpit with her friends. She sits near her educator who helps teach her how to scoop the sand into the bucket. Anita is learning how to dig, carry, and move the sand. She is also exploring texture and learning what happens to the sand when she adds water!
Lunch
Anita has finished her lunch and is preparing to take a nap. Her educator changes her nappy, prepares a bottle and reads Anita a story before her afternoon sleep.
Afternoon
Anita and some of her nursery friends enjoy some story time and songs outside in the shaded garden. They read ‘Peepo’ which is Anita’s favourite book.
Morning
Luca is two and a half years old and loves to start his day at the centre outside on the climbing equipment. His friends join him, and together they pretend to be pirates on a ship looking for treasure. Through this exciting dramatic play, Luca is learning about himself and the world around him. Dramatic play is helping Luca identify his interests, abilities, likes and dislikes.
Lunch
Luca is watering the vegetables in the garden. By doing this, Luca is learning the importance of growing and caring for the veggies in the garden. Luca picks a tomato from the garden, which the Chef will use to help make Luca and his friend’s lunch - Spaghetti Bolognese!
Afternoon
Luca enjoys art, and today he is painting a beach scene from a recent family holiday. He adds the finishing touches and sets the painting aside to dry; so that he can take it home to share with his family.
While painting, Luca is learning how to express himself creatively and how to convey his ideas and emotions. Painting is also helping develop Luca’s hand eye coordination, finger, wrist and hand strength. Making marks on paper is important for self expression as well as later learning.
Morning
Ava is almost five years old and can’t wait for today’s carpentry experience - she loves building things! Carpentry experiences allow Ava and her friends to extend their learning through real-life experiences. While participating in carpentry, Ava is learning to problem solve, experiment and predict. She is also improving her hand eye coordination, manipulative skills and muscular strength.
Lunch
Before Ava sits down for lunch with her friends and educators, Ava takes part in the centre’s sports program. Ava loves sports. Sports helps Ava improve her flexibility and strength (perfect for growing bodies!). Sports also allows her to practice different skills in a fun and engaging way.
Afternoon
Ava is off to ‘big school’ next year and she can't wait to start! Ava and her friends will be visiting the local primary school next week. In preparation for the visit, the class is creating a list of questions to ask the Principal and school children.
Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.
Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.
Meet the team
Meet the team
Hello, my name is Rebecca. I began my early childhood education and care career in 2002 and started working at in May 2021 as centre manager. I have been an area manager and NSW practice partner for service from 2019 to 2020. Before this, I was a centre manager for G8 Education since 2013.
I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and have 18 years of teaching experience. I have also taught in the NSW public school system.
I have held many roles throughout my career, including centre manager, educational leader, area manager and practice partner. Out of all of these roles, my passion lies in working directly with children and their families.
Throughout my time working with children, I have learnt that no two children are the same, and every day brings new experiences. Children each run their own race, and their learning should be individualised to them.
My aim has always been to create an environment for children to be explorers, investigators, inventors, creators, and more. Childhood is a time of wonder, and I want to create a place where children can make memories that will last a lifetime.
Early childhood is a time of exploration and wonderment. It is full of new learnings and discoveries where children can become who they want to be. Early childhood services play a hugely important role in providing children with the tools, people and resources to support their love of learning.
The Narellan World of Learning Team is made up of dedicated, skilled and experienced educators who have a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Every day we bring this experience together to design and implement individualised learning experiences and programs for each child, helping them grow into the best little people they can be!
When you arrive at our service, you will feel the warmth and care of the team, you will see the specifically designed learning spaces, and you will hear the children engaged in their learning.
You will be supported throughout the enrolment journey and have the opportunity for stay and play orientation sessions leading up to your child’s first day. Support and guidance are available at every step of the process, from completing enrolment forms to what to pack on the first day! Our dedicated parent room is available with a fully stocked coffee and tea station for those busy mornings.
Relationships are central to all we do at Narellan World of Learning. We aim to support each child and their family to feel a sense of security and belonging to our service. Each week you will receive a weekly catch-up with plenty of information to keep you up to date with what is happening within the service, as well as daily updates about your child and their engagement with the program.

Finding the right daycare for your baby can make or break any first time mums life. I tirelessly toured every school in the MacArthur region and I’m so glad that I chose this one. The facilities at the school are great but the crucial key to my sons success over the last 2 years of being in daycare (starting him at 18 months old) has been the bond that one special teacher made with him and the effort that she went to to comfort and support him in his first very tricky year as he transitioned from being with only mummy and nanny, into a busy daycare setting. I felt comfortable knowing that my son, whilst he was upset that he was being left there, was in the hands of someone who wouldn’t abandon him as soon as I was out of sight and would hold him for as long as he needed, all day comfort and care; someone with empathy for my child. That first bond that he developed with his special teacher, has now grown to include more special teachers, who I know he loves, but equally as important, I know they love him and I couldn’t ask for more from his teachers than that. Their patience with me as I navigated the experience in my own unique way was also incredibly appreciated. It is the staff, I believe, that make this daycare so unique and wonderful, and they have truely a warm and welcoming team and the vibe and culture of the team has continued as the team has grown to include new wonderful smiling faces, which we look forward to as part of our daily ritual. Forever grateful. Read more
