We relocated from WA, and this is my child’s third early learning centre. It is the first time I have ever left a one-star review. Within a 48-hour period, my child received three incident reports. The first report documented that he was knocked over by a child who was running and fell onto a trolley. The injuries included facial bruising and swelling, a split lip, and bleeding inside the mouth. A second report, within the same timeframe, stated that the same child deliberately pushed my son face-down into a garden bed covered with wood chips. The injury was to his lower eyelid — approximately 2 millimetres from his eyeball. Both reports outlined steps that would be taken in response. The documentation itself appeared appropriate. However, the second incident occurred shortly after the first, involving the same child, and the outcome did not reflect the intended preventative measures described. Experiencing multiple injuries of this severity within two days raised serious concerns for our family. ⸻ Additional considerations: • Daily updates were generally provided as end-of-day summaries rather than in real time. My child’s routine was confused with another child of the same name once. • During drop-off and pick-up, I observed children crying near walls or corners without immediate response. On at least one occasion, educators were nearby and appeared to be conversing with colleagues while a child continued crying for some time. • Older and younger children are grouped together. Mixed-age settings can work well, but they require consistent supervision, particularly after incidents between specific children. Our child’s experience led us to question whether sufficient safeguards were consistently in place when children of different ages were cared for together. • The enrolment agreement requires 8 weeks’ written notice for withdrawal. This condition appears in small print in the handbook. Families may wish to review this carefully before enrolling. ⸻ In our previous centre in Perth, our son was consistently happy and often asked to attend. During our time at this centre, he cried heavily most mornings at drop-off. On more than one occasion, he ran back to me and asked not to stay. As parents, this change was difficult to ignore. I cannot fully explain why he reacted so differently, but it was clear that he did not appear to feel the same sense of comfort and security. Early childhood education is not only about policies and procedures. Young children are highly sensitive to their environment. When a child shows ongoing distress, it naturally raises questions for a family. We withdrew our child because we no longer felt comfortable with the level of supervision and risk management in practice. This review reflects our documented experience so that other parents can make an informed decision.

We cannot express enough how grateful we are for the incredible care and support our son has received at KIN Early Learning Centre. From the very first day, the team has shown genuine kindness, patience, and dedication, creating a warm and nurturing environment where our son has truly flourished. Watching him grow, learn, and gain confidence has been nothing short of amazing. The educators go above and beyond, not only caring for his daily needs but also encouraging his curiosity and development in ways that have made a lasting impact on him and our family. Words cannot fully capture our appreciation for everything they have done. Their commitment to each child's wellbeing and growth is evident in every smile and achievement we see. We wholeheartedly recommend KIN Early Learning Centre to anyone seeking a day care that feels like a second home—truly exceptional in every way. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our son's journey!

We have had such a wonderful experience with Kin Early Learning Centre. Our little one started at just four months old and is now almost 15 months, and the growth we’ve seen has been incredible. The educators create such meaningful connections with the children, and you can truly feel the warmth, care and thoughtfulness they bring every day. We’ve noticed so much development, from learning basic baby sign language to new words, waving, clapping, blowing kisses and using gentle hands. The centre has really supported both our child and us as parents, especially in those early months when drop offs were tough. With the guidance of the educators, our little one now gets excited for morning colouring and toast. The learning environment is fabulous, beautifully set up with a Montessori approach, clean, safe and very well maintained. The attention to detail is outstanding. Our child enjoys the delicious meals cooked onsite, the engaging activities set up by the educators and the daily books and reading time. There is a great balance between learning and play, and we often see new skills at home that were introduced at the centre. The team has also helped with routines such as sleeping and introducing solids. Communication is excellent, with daily afternoon updates and additional notes throughout the day when needed. Staff are responsive, supportive and always greet us with warmth. The curriculum updates and feedback loops also give us great confidence in the leadership and quality of the program. If I had to describe Kin Early Learning Centre in three words it would be caring, supportive and safe. Sending our child here has truly been one of the best decisions we have made as parents, and I would absolutely recommend this centre to other families. Thank you, Kin ELC!
