About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Our Educators support young children during this rapid period of growth and change through nurturing and responsive relationships. Our educators ensure that children’s individual needs for sleeping, eating, active and quiet play are met on time, every day.
Our environments have been strategically designed to allow Toddlers to learn, develop and explore, supporting their ever increasing sense of curiosity. Independence skills and choices are a key part of the day, building to a positive approach to learning and trying.
Our Educators support our Preschoolers to learn more about the world around them, and their impact on others Increased language skills leads to greater collaboration in play, and a greater understanding of differences.
Our Transition to School Program is designed to develop learning dispositions, providing a fluid transition into Early Stage One of the Australian School Curriculum. Increased social and emotional confidence supports healthy risk taking, making predictions and ongoing resilience.
Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
At Young Academics, we believe the first five years of a child’s life are critical for establishing healthy eating habits, exploring new foods, and meeting essential nutritional needs to support growth and development. Good nutrition not only enhances physical health but also boosts a child’s well-being, self-confidence, and focus.
We’ve developed our unique Nutrition Program in collaboration with a qualified nutritionist. This program is designed to help children understand the importance of healthy eating, hygiene, and physical activity. We encourage children to actively participate in meal preparation and serving, fostering a hands-on approach to learning about nutrition.
Our carefully crafted seasonal menu, which rotates every four weeks, is designed to meet 50% of your child’s daily nutritional requirements. It includes a variety of nourishing foods such as vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, chicken, dairy products, and more, ensuring children receive a balanced diet that supports their growth and development.
Kindergarten/Preschool Programs
Kindergarten/Preschool Programs
At Young Academics, our Transition to School Program is a comprehensive, carefully designed pathway that prepares children for the exciting journey into formal education. We understand that this is a major milestone, and our program focuses on equipping children with the academic, social, and emotional skills they need for a smooth transition.
Our dedicated educators work closely with each child, providing tailored support to ensure they feel confident and emotionally ready for the next step in their learning journey. We focus on building essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, while also fostering independence, resilience, and a love for learning.
Through a combination of structured learning, interactive play, and hands-on experiences, we help children develop both academically and socially, so they feel prepared not just for the classroom, but for the social dynamics of school life as well.
At Young Academics, we take pride in setting children up for a seamless and positive transition into school, laying the foundation for both academic success and personal growth that will last a lifetime.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
At Young Academics, we believe that strong partnerships between families and educators are fundamental to a child’s early learning journey. We prioritise open, consistent, and transparent communication with parents to ensure that every child’s individual needs, interests, and development are well supported.
Daily updates are shared through our secure online platform, giving families real-time insights into their child’s learning experiences, routines, and achievements. This allows parents to stay connected with what’s happening at the centre, while also opening up opportunities for meaningful conversations at home.
We actively invite parent involvement through events, learning celebrations, centre activities, and cultural experiences, because we know that children thrive when there is a shared commitment to their growth and wellbeing. Families are always welcome to share feedback, ideas, or simply spend time in our learning environments.
Whether it's during the daily drop-off, a parent-educator meeting, or a centre-wide celebration, our team is committed to building relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration.

I recently toured Young Academics Smeaton Grange and was incredibly impressed by the warmth, professionalism, and care shown by the staff. The centre had such a welcoming atmosphere, and the environment felt safe, clean, and thoughtfully set up for little learners. The educators in the 2 Room, where my son Odin will be attending, were so lovely — kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing that he’ll be in such nurturing hands. The whole experience made me feel confident that this is the right place for Odin. Thank you to the amazing team at Smeaton Grange for such a positive start to our early learning journey. Highly recommend! Read more

We had the best experience walking into young Academy Gregory Hills. The staff was lovely the equipment New and updated and there is a lot of learning tools. The play equipment outside is planned and mapped out spaciously. They even have quiet yoga after lunch because they know the kids need downtime too. The toilets are beautiful and they are on the right track with learning to get into big school. We signed up immediately and I wish I signed you up earlier Read more

Absolutely amazing centre, from the modern up-to-date well kept environment, amazing play spaces to the educators and staff members, YA smeaton grange is phenomenal. My daughter has learnt so much, built wonderful relationship with teachers and peers, and honestly most days doesn’t want to leave. The variety of rooms allows children to learn in a way that suits their age and abilities. The vibrancy, variety and rotation of toys allows kids to be excited with an abundance of activities to do not to mention how much space they have in their classrooms to do so. The backyard play space is one of the biggest and best I’ve seen in the area. Everything in the centre is well kept and maintained to ensure safety, The staff at YA go above and beyond to make the child/ren and parents feel welcome, happy, safe, supported. In the toddler 2 room the staff have played a wonderful roll in encouraging and supporting my 2.5 through potting training. I cannot fault this centre. Read more

We have only been attending Smeaton Grange for a few short weeks but we have been absolutely blown away by the team at YA. The entire team has been so welcoming to our beautiful children and have spent so much time getting to know them and their individual needs. Our son comes home talking about the fun activities and experiences, while his sisters have learnt so many new words. It really has become our children’s home away from home. We are so thankful for everything that the team do and would absolutely recommend anyone looking for care to check out this beautiful centre. Read more

As a first time mum returning to work the staff made me feel at ease from day 1, I knew my son was in the best care. He is always so excited to go to nursery. I like that I can keep track of his food in take, naps and bottles all through their app and each day they will post a summary of the activites the children did for the day. They are a nut and egg-free centre which I love as my son is allergic and will cater to all dietary requirements. What is also amazing is the diversity and inclusivity at the centre. They acknowledge special days and cultural holidays and will respect the values of the parents if it does not align. I am very happy with the care and the development of my son and would highly recommend this centre. Read more
