With quality education and care, using a multi-dimensional and value-laden approach, we deliver a holistic curriculum to build the foundational blocks for young learners to reach their full potential.
The Academy for Early Learners team
Using a play-based approach, the curriculum encourages the children to explore, discover and problem solve.
Nursery (under 2 years)
The small group environment in the nursery allows for stronger connections to grow between the children and their educators. In a playful, stimulating and nurturing environment, the babies develop emotionally, physically and cognitively. Educators make daily observations about the progress of each child and provide parents with regular updates.
Toddler (2 - 3 years)
The toddler curriculum is designed to give the children the tools they need to explore their world. They engage in hands-on, interactive activities with building blocks, art and craft and natural elements to help them learn and grow. Daily observations and group reflection sessions ensure parents receive regular updates about their child.
Preschool (3 - 5 years)
The preschool children at Academy for Early Learners are referred to as the Wise Owls. They are given opportunities to explore their unique interests in a guided and supportive environment. They can learn at their own pace with interactive games and interest-based activities that teach literacy and numeracy skills and help to develop a love of learning.
With decades of experience, the degree-qualified educators at Academy for Early Learners draw on the best practice teaching and research to meet the needs of every child.
The educators are focussed on building long-lasting relationships with every family so they can understand the needs and interests of the children in their care. Using a play-based approach to learning, the educators are skilled at engaging children and helping them to reach their full potential.
Cooked fresh on site by an in-house cook and designed by in-house qualified dietitians, the menu at Academy for Early Learners uses seasonal ingredients to give the children the energy they need. The meals provided at least 50% of a child’s recommended dietary intake of all nutrients.
The nutritious rotational menu includes breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea. All meals are served with either milk or water and can be tailored to cater to children with allergies or religious and special dietary requirements.
The children can also enjoy growing their own produce in the numerous vegetable gardens. This produce is used in the preparation of the centre menu and shared amongst the children to take home and enjoy with their families.
Morning
Owen is a 12-month-old in the nursery at Academy for Early Learners. When he arrives at the centre in the morning, he happily listens to a story that his educator is reading.
Lunch
Owen loves to visit the worm farm in the outdoor play area. He is intrigued by how the worms wriggle through the dirt. He also helps his educators to water the vegetables in the garden.
Afternoon
In the afternoon, Owen enjoys doing an art class. He abandons his paintbrush and instead uses his fingers to create a beautiful painting with lots of colour.
Morning
Charlotte has just turned two and recently moved from the nursery to the toddler room at Academy for Early Learners. She loves to spend her morning helping her educator to pick fresh produce from the vegetable garden.
Lunch
After lunch, Charlotte joins her friends in doing a science experiment. They are making marbled milk paper. Charlotte gets excited about the beautiful colours - to her it’s like magic!
Afternoon
Today is Chinese New Year and the educators have planned some craft activities to celebrate. Charlotte also enjoyed dumplings for lunch.
Morning
Jack is five-years-old and proud to be one of the big kids at Academy for Early Learners. He is in the early stages of learning to read so participates in a phonics lesson in the morning. His skills are improving every day.
Lunch
After lunch, the Wise Owls have the job of sowing new seeds in the vegetable garden. Jack likes to learn about the different plants they grow. He just wishes they would grow faster!
Afternoon
Jack enjoys a yoga class in the afternoon. He is usually very busy throughout the day and his parents like that he is learning yoga to help him slow down sometimes.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
