PROFESSIONAL NANNY HISTORY

March 2019 - October 2019
Live-In Nanny:  (Various locations)

Working for a lovely family caring for one child aged 2 years at commencement.  The family owned a food van so I travelled with them from Townsville, throughout QLD and then to Adelaide. I worked from early afternoons and overnight when required.  I was responsible for engaging in fun activities, games & puzzles, story and reading, arts and crafts, feeding, settling, cooking and would often drive with the child to various locations,.

Live-In Nanny:  (temporary role)
Airlie Beach & Townsville

This was unfortunately another temporary assignment which luckily allowed me to spend some time on holiday with the family in Airlie Beach & then back at their home in Townsville. This was a wonderful single Dad who had sole custody of his children.

I helped out in between the previous Nanny finishing employment and the new Nanny commencing employment.  I was was caring for one 5 yr old boy and 3 yr old twins.  The father had a very busy schedule with work which sometimes required two nannies to cover his shift work. I absolutely loved this family and role and felt I thrived caring for the children on my own whilst Dad was away for work.

I was so incredibly thrilled to be looking after twins againvI found them to be twice the fun & twice the love. Being a twin myself, I could truely relate to each individual childs needs.

Live-In Nanny: (Kuranda)
September 2018 - Jan 2019

I fell in love with this Kuranda family from the moment I walked into the door. In an instant I knew that this is the type of family, children & lifestyle that I've been searching for. Not only did I fall in love with the kids instantaneously, but I also fell in love with their parents.

Caring for a 3 yr old and 3 month old. Parents were establishing a farm on their property and getting it ready to plant before the wet season.  I worked 5-6 hours per day, for 6 days per week caring for the children, organising meals, cooking, cleaning and lots of imaginative play. A very natural and organic way of parenting and living, which I loved.

Unfortunately my time with them came to a close due to the start of the wet (monsoon) season – which (heartbreakingly) was our initial arrangement.

March 2017 - September 2018
Live-In Nanny: Yarra Valley

Caring for 3 children aged 8yrs, 12yrs and 14yrs. Working full-time doing housework, shopping, cooking and looking after the three children.  Position included taking the children to places, playing activites, take them to the library, mini golf, skate park etc.

I initially moved in with a struggling mother of three who had recently separated from her husband. Once Juliet (the Mum) knew of my childcare experience I then inadvertently (over time) also became her Confidante, Nanny & Housekeeper.

October 2016 - March 2017
Live-out position: Dandenong Ranges

Caring for daughter (4 months ) and son (2 1/2 years). In-house caring, preparing snacks, cleaning kitchen and bedrooms.

In 2014 whilst living in Perth I received a call from Rachel (the mother of the twins from my first family) who was then running her own Nanny agency called, “Nanny God's”. A single father urgently needed care for his 3 kids all under 10. Despite already juggling a banking & treasury position I simply couldn't say no. Especially when I realised they didn't have a relationship with their Mum & up until that point had nothing more than a revolving door of nannies. I left the position when I required surgery & subsequently then had to relocate back to the East Coast.

Live-In Nanny

Caring for a 4 week old baby and  two school aged children.  I was a Live-In Nanny on their estate working whilst the parents travelled both interstate & abroad.

In my mid-20's I began to focus my attention on my business skills. It was there that I found my new family, when I worked with their father a CEO & myself an EA. We developed a great rapport & as his career became increasingly demanding, so did his young family. It was a natural progression then to go then from his assistant to also a Live-In Nanny on their estate. He then began extensively working both interstate & abroad, where they then had to take on the help of Au-Pairs. It always made my day when the girls returned home & would tell me I was always their favourite :)  Eventually they moved more or less abroad FT, however my relationship with them has only ever strengthened since. Especially now we are all back living within the same state. I share a particularly close-bond with the eldest Ally, whom by chance ended up temporarily moving to Perth with her then boyfriend whilst I was there. It gave her parents great comfort to know she wasn't alone & I would always be there for her.

This was my first live-in nanny position. Despite my lack of experience Rachel recognised much of herself in me. She knew with absolute dedication, love, hard-work & exceptional organisational skills from us both that as a formidable team we were capable of doing it all. I remained flexible & could be available to work anywhere from part to full time, night & or day, week to week hours dependent on her ever-changing schedule. Rachel, to this day still remains an incredible mentor to me & it was still whilst under her influence I was also fully supported in taking up further contract (temp-agency) business related work, when time prevailed.

Babysitting Experience

James parents' were here from the UK. This was my first childcare position which ignited my passion for childcare. On regular occasions I  would babysit often overnight in their home, on weeknights & or weekends. Sadly, after many tears (from us all) the family decided to return to England when Mum became pregnant with their second born.
