- If Casual bookings are received within 48 business hours of commencement of the assignment or made after hours then the booking fee will be $50 (+GST).  

- If bookings are remote then there maybe an increase in the agency booking fee, please contact the agency for details

- We offer Shared Babysitting/Nannying Services also (if the children are from one, two or three different sets of parents or if there is more than 3 children).  Please contact the agency on 1300 011 167 or email us at abra.childcare@gmail.com for further details (additional fees maybe involved to comply with children to carer/nanny ratio).

Minimum booking is 4 hours.

Personal Statement 

I am a dedicated, creative and nur turing carer with an extensive background in teaching and private care. I have been teaching in Primary and Special Education for over 5 years and have experience as a nanny/ babysitter for over 20 years. I can under take a variety of roles including casual babysitting, weekend nannying, traveling nannying, private tutoring, overnight care or proxy parenting. I am confident in providing sole or assisted car e for any a ge with any requirements . I have a strong passion for learning, play and adventuring, allowing me to crea te unique opportunities for educating through exploration and varied experiences. This enables me to share my love of learning and new experiences, ensuring the wholistic development of children in my care. I am happiest in any role when I know that I am doing the best possible job and able to establish a strong, respectful, communicative and flexible working relation.

I started this role in June and have thoroughly enjoy working with schools and key stakeholders to work towards the vision of creating a mentally healthy generation through the implementation of a national mental health and wellbeing initiative for schools.

Key responsibilities: - Liaising with school leaders to share information about the framework. - Assisting school leaders to understand the framework then to plan and implement it in their school. - Working with clinical team members to support schools with critical needs. - Presenting to and training staff on the framework and other mental health literacy. During my time as a Primary Teacher I have been fortunate to be appointed to various roles including classroom teacher, teacher librarian, learning support teacher and special education teacher in various capacities.

During my years studying I held several part-time nannying and casual babysitting roles. These included sole care of up to 5 children from the ages of 1-12. I continue to do casual babysitting for various families currently.

Key responsibilities: - Planning and designing age and developmentally appropriate activities, games and play. - Preparing healthy snacks and meals. - Bathing and dressing the children and getting them ready for bed/school/activities or the day. - Safety vigilance when supervising and/or swimming with the children. - Implement a clear, positive reinforcement approach to behaviour. - Administering medicine, medication and first aid when needed. - Apply sunscreen to and ensure the children all wear hats while outside to ensure their sun safety. - Tidying and cleaning the household as necessary to ensure it is clean and organised when the parents return. - Unpacking school bags and preparing lunches for the following day. - Assisting with the completion of homework and/or school projects. - Communicate with parents about the daily activities and behaviour. Notable contributions to the roles: - Using my initiative and creativity to find cost effective, unique, interesting and new activities for the children and making day trips out. These trips have included bush walks, cave exploring, Interactive Lego displays and demonstrations, train and ferry trips, museum trips, science demonstrations, kayaking, bird watching, wetland exploring, maze trips, art classes, children’s art gallery tours, inflatable games, sand and grass sliding, picnicking, cooking classes, fishing. - The families entrusted me with important milestones in the care of their children. I was the first carer to stay with two children (3 months and 2.5) while mum returned to work; and I looked after the four children of another family while the parents went away overnight for the first time. - Creating craft/cards/gifts with the children on special occasions such as birthdays, Mother’s Day, Christmas and Easter.
