In this job I was lucky enough to become a big sister to 3 beautiful boys aging from newborn to 7 years old. I really settled with the family and created an amazing bond with the children. I was given daily household chores to complete whilst mainly looking after the 18 month old.

My tasks included:

● Making 2 meals a day for the family, usually breakfast and lunch. 
● Helping the eldest get ready for school, including making his lunch and helping him pack his bag.
● Looking after the youngest children constantly throughout the day, including educational play, painting, swimming, physical activity and many more.
● Helping the eldest child complete his homework after school.
● Going on playdates with all 3 of the children.
● Helping cook dinner for the family and other staff that worked in the house.
● Organising nighttime activities that included the whole family.
● Getting the children ready for bed and helping with the night time routine.

I loved every minute of being part of my Byron family and learned so much about being a parent. It added a whole different perspective to my other training and education, and I am very grateful for that experience.

Play Worker
Lainshaw Lions All Day Care

I worked as a play worker during summer holidays and after school. Being a play worker, I had to do extensive training and learn a lot about child nutrition, child safety, first aid, child psychology and many more things. My main job was to make sure that the children were in a safe environment and that they enjoy their time spent with us. Some tasks were:

● Picking children up from class/school and getting them to our facility safely.

● Making sure that each child were fed nutritious food and given water on a regular basis.

● Setting up the facility so it was a safe environment.

● Organising games and activities for the children to take part in, usually involving physical activity.

● Helping the children with homework.

● Being in charge of the creative corner and wall displays within our facility.

● Organising excursions for the children during the summer holidays.
