Interests

A Little Bit about Me...

I am a qualified English nanny from West Sussex in England. I have worked in childcare since 2005 and have worked in a variety of settings and in family homes as a nanny. I love my work and I feel that it comes across in how I work with children and babies. I am calm, kind and firm but I know how to have fun and I love to join in at the park or at a play café. I enjoy cooking and try and encourage children to join in where possible. I cook a range of different food and if I don’t know how to cook it I will look it up and adapt to suit.

I enjoy craft and messy play. I love to create creations for birthdays and Christmas crafts in the past I have made cards, salt dough handprints. I love imaginative play and love to join in but knowing when to step back and just watch or step back entirely and get on with cooking. Activities out and about I try and head out each day even if we just head to the park. I love the library and enjoy rhyme time and story time. I am good at finding activities and love to follow children’s interests. In the past I have had a little boy who loved science so a trip to the science museum was organised. I try to do a range of different activities from play cafes, zoos, swimming, library visits….etc.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy swimming and going to the gym. I love to do crafts and attempt to make my cards for birthdays etc. I am a Girl Guide leader and hope to follow it up in Australia and find a unit to help out with when possible. I do a lot of camping in my spare time and have explored the UK doing this (glamping style generally!!)

I am a team player with excellent communication skills and qualified up to level 3 in childcare. Possessing valuable experience of working with children aged between 0-5 years, ensuring that they are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I am also experienced with older children with experience of out of school hour’s care and enjoying planning activities to suit their needs. I am a Girl Guide leader and am actively involved in planning the term meeting and overnight camps. I am passionate about providing first class childcare to infants under my supervision.

Having an enthusiastic attitude and working hard to ensure good practice. My aim in the next year is to gain to complete additional courses to enable me to further my knowledge when working with babies.
