I’m honestly extremely disappointed and disgusted by the behaviour I witnessed from the new Centre Manager when I came to pick my nephew up. I overheard the way an educator was being spoken to, and it was completely unprofessional, disrespectful and honestly hard to listen to. The educator looked visibly uncomfortable and upset, and no staff member deserves to be spoken to in such a degrading and belittling manner, especially in front of other people. As a family member walking into the service, it left an incredibly negative impression on me and raised serious concerns about the environment staff are expected to work in every day. Leadership sets the tone for an entire centre, and from what I witnessed, the way staff are being treated is unacceptable. There is a massive difference between managing staff and humiliating them, and what I overheard crossed that line completely. It also makes a lot more sense now as to why there has been such a huge amount of staff turnover recently. My nephew has already had some of his favourite teachers leave, and it has been upsetting watching him lose educators who were his safe people and who made him feel comfortable and secure at daycare. Children build strong emotional bonds with educators they trust, and when those people are constantly leaving, it absolutely impacts them emotionally. Quite honestly, if this is how educators are being treated behind the scenes, I am not surprised staff do not want to stay. Educators deserve respect, support and professionalism from management, not to be spoken down to or made to feel small while simply trying to do their jobs. Families notice these things, and hearing a Centre Manager speak to staff in such a disgusting way completely changes how people view the service. I think the way this situation was handled reflects very poorly on the leadership within the centre, and I truly hope something is done about it because from a family perspective, it was genuinely shocking and uncomfortable to witness.

UPDATE* As a parent of a child who used to attend this centre, I’m SO HAPPY that I pulled him out. He now attends an amazing centre (not G8 owned), and he hasn’t been sick at all, the educators actually care, and the director isn’t a corporate pig. If you want your child to be neglected, enrol them into Great Beginnings Gregory Hills 👍🏽 —————————————————————————— My son came home on 30/10/25 with a wet nappy shoved down his pants still attached to his ankle whilst wearing another fully wet nappy. It’s been 3 bus days and no one has been able to tell me who did that, why, and when during that day. It’s not hard to determine, there were only 3 recorded nappy changes done that day by 3 different educators. On that note - they missed his 9am nappy change also. Missing nappy changes is a common occurrence. Back on 01/08/2025, Miss Morium (Junior Kindy room) had failed her duty of care and let my son sit in a soiled nappy. As I watched her change his nappy, my son screamed the room down as he had a severe nappy rash due to her negligence. As she changed his nappy, she applied nappy cream with faeces still all over his bottom. When I asked why she had done, that she responded “he won’t let me change his nappy”. Funny that. I had to take over and managed to change it correctly. There’s been times when my son has come home with his nappy not even covering his parts, other times with a severe nappy rash (due to letting him sit in soiled nappies), and now our recent incident he came home with 2 wet nappies attached to his body. I pulled my son out immediately, I should’ve done it in August tbh. I have complained to the director and have reported this centre to DOE with a response pending. I’m absolutely disgusted in the educators, and am disappointed in the director for employing staff that are lazy with nappy changes and neglect children. It’s the fact that I’ve had multiple discussions and 1 heated argument regarding nappy changes, and my son hadn’t even been there for a full year. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place!!!!

I have no idea how they trick people into giving them 5 stars and a fake review but this by far is the worst centre you can send ur children to in the neighbourhood. The educators are over whelmed and stressed out and children are just sick and unhappy and many incidents have happened with my child. I wish I had known prior. You never want to leave your child and worry all day and get anxious all day wondering if they are safe. This place needs to close or get renovated and better trained staff or lower the ratio till this place gets under control.
