About the curriculum

About the curriculum

At Kindalin, children are cared for in an environment that is both stimulating and challenging. The seven core beliefs of the centre’s philosophy are:

Partnerships between the children, families and educators

Environments should be both positive and nurturing, seeing children as individuals who are competent and capable learners.

Active Learning is encouraged as children explore their surroundings and interact with others.

Family support is offered where parents take an active role in their child’s programming. All cultures are celebrated and valued.

Community involvement is encouraged, visiting and engaging with other groups and spaces within the local area.

Team Culture where educators are respected individually as well as working within a professional group that encourages development and reflection.

Sustainability as part of the culture and curriculum, to teach children to learn and respect the environment.

An exciting place to grow and learn

Programs

Programs

  • Soccer Pat  - Pat visits Kindalin on a monthly basis to continue his soccer skills activities with the children, providing them with the opportunity to engage in gross motor skill activities.
  • Art with Miss Maree - Maree Sproats from Dural Art Studio runs her art classes with the Wonderful Wombats at Kindalin each Term. Children learn about interpretations, textures and visual arts in the most interesting ways!

  • Educational programs – Throughout the year, children have educational experiences with Government programs and other companies, including Binwise recycling program, SmartDental dental hygiene presentation and more.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum

Babies use their senses to begin to investigate their environment. As they get older, they start to show more interest in moving objects, colourful mobiles and gentle movement with an educator. Older babies become reliant on the familiar adults that care for them. They become more inquisitive about how the world works and will interact with other children or objects in their space.

Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition

All meals and snacks are provided and prepared in-house at Kindalin. The menu was designed in collaboration with dietitian Fiona Kupresanin, and offers a  nutritious menu.

The centre uses low fat and reduced salt ingredients, wholemeal and wholegrain foods, a range of vegetables and plenty of low-GI foods.

All dietary needs are catered for, including vegetarian options, and alternatives for children who are gluten-intolerant or have allergies.

The educators at Kindalin use meal and snack time as another educational opportunity for the children. Educators promote self-help skills as the children serve their own fruit and veggies from the platters, and make decisions for themselves as to what they would like to eat.

It is also a great time to discuss healthy eating and trying new foods. For the younger children, Educators promote sensory exploration as they taste and touch their food.

Throughout the year the children learn about healthy eating, such as what are 'always' and 'sometimes' foods. This occurs as part of the curriculum, including projects, food and cooking demonstrations, visitors to the centre and presentations from external organisations.

We feel so grateful to have our daughter at Kindalin, especially in the Playful Possums class. A special thank you to Miss Jorja and Miss Holla for the extraordinary care and attention they give every single day. Miss Jorja always provides the most detailed updates when I pick up my daughter. She remembers the little moments, emotions, activities, and interactions throughout the day in a way that truly shows how attentive and caring she is. It’s a level of detail and genuine observation that not everyone can provide, and it gives us so much comfort as parents. Miss Holla is equally amazing. She always remembers the things I mention during drop off and genuinely pays attention to how my daughter is feeling and adjusting throughout the day. It’s clear that both educators truly care about every child individually.

We are extremely happy with Kindalin Rouse Hill. The educators put so much care and effort into creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment for the children. Our son is always excited and eager to go each day (even asking me if he can go on days he is not enrolled) which gives us great confidence and peace of mind as parents. We especially love the well-organised community events - morning teas and afternoon teas that invite parents or grandparents into the learning space, giving us the opportunity to connect with other families and see our children interacting with their friends. It’s such a wonderful community-focused environment, and we are truly grateful for everything you do for our children each day.

We’ve had such a great experience with this childcare centre. It’s always clean and well-organised, which gives me real peace of mind. I also really appreciate how the educators take the time to know my kids, what they like, eat during the day, and their little preferences. It feels very personal and caring. Appreciate the coffee nights too. It’s great being able to see what the curriculum looks like and actually understand what our kids are learning. Most of all, the staff are amazing, friendly, competent, and genuinely care about the children. Honestly, Kindalin Rousehill is the best childcare my kids have been to. Highly recommend!
