Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, our philosophy is built on creating a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring environment for children, families, educators, and the community. We believe in fostering a strong sense of belonging and encouraging each child to thrive holistically—emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically.
We embrace each child’s uniqueness and individuality, encouraging them to explore, discover, and grow within their environment. Children are provided with meaningful opportunities to engage in play-based learning and to build relationships with their peers and educators. Our approach supports holistic development, fostering confidence and a strong sense of security. We believe every child is special and deserves the chance to shine in their own way.
Our educational program is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We create an engaging and responsive environment where children are encouraged to lead their own learning journeys with the guidance of caring educators. Through play, inquiry, and intentional teaching, we build stable, respectful relationships and promote a strong sense of community and active participation in the world around them.
We are proud to be a part of the Mt Druitt community and are committed to building strong connections with local families, organisations, and cultural groups. By fostering open communication and embracing an open-door policy, we promote inclusivity and cultural awareness. These community ties help children develop a deeper understanding of their place in the world and nurture a sense of belonging that extends beyond the classroom.
We recognise that families are the first and most important teachers in a child’s life. As early childhood educators, we value our role in forming strong, respectful partnerships with families. Through open communication and collaboration, we create a warm, family-like environment where children are supported to grow into their most authentic, capable selves. Together, we build a foundation of trust and mutual respect that benefits every child’s development.

Programs
Programs
At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, our programs are thoughtfully designed and led by our experienced Educational Leader. Every aspect of our curriculum is child-focused and aims to nurture each child’s individual interests, developmental milestones, and sense of agency.
We are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which forms the foundation of our educational approach. Our program revolves around the five key Learning Outcomes:
- Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
- Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
- Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
We believe that learning is most powerful when it is play-based, intentional, and deeply connected to each child's lived experiences.
At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, we embrace diversity and provide inclusive practices that support children with additional needs. We ensure every child has equal opportunities to participate, learn, and thrive. Through purposeful play and emotional support, we foster confidence, pride, and a sense of belonging for all children.
Our School Readiness Program prepares children for their transition to formal schooling by fostering independence, self-help skills, emotional regulation, literacy, numeracy, and social development. We work in close partnership with families to ensure each child is confident and well-prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.
We celebrate the rich diversity within our community and embed cultural awareness into our daily practices and programming. Children are exposed to various traditions, languages, and customs, promoting understanding, respect, and inclusion for all cultures and backgrounds.
We offer a wide range of enriching experiences to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom:
- Mini Master Chefs – Fun and interactive cooking experiences
- Lunch Box Program – Promoting healthy food choices and independence
- Birthday Celebrations – Special recognition of each child's birthday
- Free Dental Checks & Lessons – Oral hygiene education and support
- Munch & Move – Encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Responsible Pet Ownership Program – Learning empathy and care for animals
- Sustainability Program – Promoting environmental responsibility
- Educational Incursions – Engaging incursions throughout the year
- Family Events – Strengthening our community through shared celebrations
We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals daily, ensuring children receive balanced meals that support their physical growth and overall wellbeing. Our menus are designed to meet dietary needs and encourage healthy eating habits from a young age.

My child has been attending Kindy Kollege Mount Druitt for nearly a year now, and the staff there have been nothing but kind and attentive. They’ve taken such thoughtful care of my little one, and we truly appreciate how much effort they put into every detail. A special shout-out to the Centre Director, Sharmila – her warmth and dedication make the place feel like a second home. We couldn’t ask for a more welcoming environment! Read more

I worked here for almost a full year, and honestly, the team I had around me was the best I’ve ever worked with. They were incredibly supportive and patient as I navigated my study’s of my traineeship and learning the demands of childcare. The team was always positive, eager to try new ideas to bring joy and fun games to the children. Everyone prioritized each other’s mental health, which created a truly caring environment. These factors kept me motivated to come to work every day. I’m extremely grateful for the experience and wish I could stay, but life brings changes—and that’s okay! Wishing all the best to the growth of the beautiful kids I got to work with. Read more
