My child begun toilet training and was in a room with no toilets, but was old enough to be in the toddler room with toilets. When I spoke to the centre manager C about moving my child to the toddler room so she can be in a classroom that has toilets. She essentially told me that they would rather wait until there’s 20 to 30 children ready to move instead of moving children one by one as it’s more convenient for them. I raised the concern that my child should not have to wait to go toilet to be taken from one classroom to another. The centre manager c said to me “ I have a Potty training child at home and they could hold”. Sorry, I’m talking about my child, not yours. I then dropped my child off and asked her to be taken toilet when she’s finished breakfast. An hour and 30 minutes later they logged that she had an accident. When I called the childcare Centre the centre manager C told me they were busy that morning and do not have time for one on one. I said so I’m just confirming you did not have time to take my child to the toilet. The centre manager C confirmed that that’s correct. They did not have time to take her to the toilet. Then complained to the Department of education who confirmed that the school should not have done that and that all children should be able to access the toilet when they need it. The next week. Monday I got a phone call telling me that the teacher watched my child be pushed into a bookshelf by an older child. Understand children can do this but when a teacher repeatedly in that phone call said three times she watched that happen. Why did you not intervene? Tuesday I got a phone call incorrectly advising me they perform CPR on my child. When I asked what hospital my child was in the teacher then said to me “nah soz girl not CPR”. Wednesday my child was not taken to the toilet for three hours and then they logged that she had an accident. When I phoned to question this they advised me that she in fact had not had an accident that she sat in a wet patch. I raised why is my two-year-old being withheld from the toilet for over three hours? Upon collection that day it was 34° at time of collection and the children were outside and all their water bottles were locked inside. So I know why my daughter didn’t need to go toilet for 3 hours, she was dehydrated. It is actually neglect to withhold a child from basic human rights including access to water and a toilet. head office then contacted me to cancel my contract. Absolutely no accountability from Young Academics for their part in the neglect shown to my child nor did she have any empathy. If you have a toddler, you are better off sending them to the pound then to this school least at a pound they have access to toilet needs and water. The centre manager C has 0 people skills and her concern is the business, not your child’s safety or wellbeing. I hope this improves because it’s actually quite dangerous to withhold children from water and toilets. Only positive is Kirsty in the nursery and Priya in junior toddler are amazing!! The one star is for them 2

I can’t speak highly enough of Young Academics Dharruk. The team strikes the perfect balance of being kind, firm, and genuinely focused on what my children need to thrive. They run a great daily routine that gives my boys structure and consistency, and the meals are amazing — fresh, nutritious food prepared daily by their in-house chefs. It’s such a comfort knowing they’re being well looked after in every way. What really stands out is their communication and responsiveness. They’re quick to act on any situation and always keep me informed, which gives me real peace of mind. The staff are clearly chosen with high standards, and their skills and care truly show in the way they support my two sons. I also deeply appreciate how culturally inclusive the centre is — it feels welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all families. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and professional childcare environment.

Would not recommend this daycare they do not work with you ,make lies up single kids with high/special needs or behaviour issues I did not agree to call me if my son was to much they get paid and should have certificates on how to handle children they prefer to have children who are either zombies and on medication or sits there and be quiet there quiet happy to accept anyone as it’s another number in the system and more money in their pocket My son has adhd etc and currently seeing therapies ,seeing Pediatrician and also medicated but still wasent enough I received 5/6 incident reports a day for 4 weeks and multiple phone calls a day there was a behaviour plan and risk assessment plan in place but still couldn’t handle my children they manipulate make up stories to cover them self

Did a tour at this centre & wouldn’t recommend , the centre was dirty , a child was sleeping on the dirty floor outside , another child was peeing down a drain at the back of the school , kids crying everywhere I looked & teachers just sitting around , definitely not a place I would send my children

Friendly staff and amazing with kids they do their best with children that are enrolled.

I have 2 boys attending Young Academics 3 days a week. My 4 year old is nonverbal Autistic and the educators go above and beyond to accomodate his needs giving me peace of mind whilst he is in care. Highly recommend Young Academics!
