Mungarra Kindergarten

The centre has a holistic curriculum of age-specific programs that caters to all needs and learning styles, and that respects children's unique voices, interests and cultures. This helps children reach their full potential and individual goals, and develop essential school-readiness skills. Children play and learn in three groups, including:

Barn Owls 1.5yrs To 2.5yrs

At this age, the focus is on settling in and forming a positive bond between educator, child and family. Educators encourage child’s development in vocabulary and communication, along with emotional regulation. This group is capped at 5 children maximum per day, to ensure the environment remains calm and is never overwhelming. 

Snowy Owls 2.5yrs To 3.5yrs

In the Snowy Owls program, educators foster and support children’s independence with fun play-based learning. The team also oversees and nurtures social interactions between peers, helping toddlers develop important social and emotional skills.

Chestnut Owls 3.Yrs To School Age (Including School Readiness Program)

The Chestnut Owls consist of up to 15 children per day with two educators. The educators ensure children feel supported and connected as they further build on their social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills with the school readiness program. 

Educators encourage children’s independence and responsibility, and learning and interests are guided through open-ended and stimulating experiences. The school readiness program includes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), outdoor play, dramatic play and other holistic activities that help foster knowledge and wellbeing.
