My daughter has been attending Nottingham World of Learning since she was 2.5 years old and she is 4 year old now. Like many children, she found the transition difficult at first and cried during drop-offs. The educators were incredibly patient, caring, and supportive during this time, which gave us a lot of confidence as parents.Over time, she settled in beautifully, and now she loves going to childcare to play with her friends. She is happy, confident and clearly feel safe and comfortable. The staffs and manager are loving , attentive and caring. The environment is well set up, stimulating and organised too. We are very grateful for the care and support they have given to our daughter and would highly recommend this centre to families around this area.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Toddler Space: 15 months - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddler children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self confidence and emotional self regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning. A child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's development by engaging in rich discussions, introducing new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations, as well as singing, playing games, and reading with the children daily.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, is supported through group learning environments. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Lastly, ensuring that all children are ready for the ‘big school’ by preparing them for all that ‘big school’ has to offer.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.

Our centre offers children nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Kristyn and I am the Centre Manager here at Nottingham World of Learning. I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2010. I started working at Nottingham World of Learning in 2018. I hold a Certificate 3 and a Diploma in Children’s Services. I have worked at Nottingham World of Learning as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager and now as a Centre Manager.

I have always had a passion for early childhood education. I have worked with all ages and learnt a lot about the different skills and needs of children. I am passionate about helping children on their learning life journey. We educate the children in all different learning areas – art, movement, cognitive, self-help skills, and communication. I also pride myself on being a great mentor to my team.

When children are in a dedicated early learning environment, they get the opportunity to be independent, self-regulate, learn resilience, social skills, and language. They are able to explore with qualified early childhood educators and teachers who are trained to educate and develop skills that all children need for their future!

Our team at Nottingham are dedicated. We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. You will be greeted with a smile and your child will be in caring hands.

We support our families by always making sure we communicate with our families. They are greeted with a happy team and we always keep in touch with our amazing app – Xplor Home! We can update you on your child’s day throughout the day.

We make sure that we respect all cultural needs of our families and children, their home life and kindy life are consistent, and the needs of the families are met. Families are also encouraged to be involved in centre decisions, events and their child’s learning.

Welcome to Nottingham World of Learning.

I am writing this review from the bottom of my heart to express how grateful I am for the care my 2-year-old son has received at Nottingham World of Learning. As a first-time mum with no experience in choosing the right daycare, I was initially attracted to centres with new facilities and a “fancy” look—like many parents are. Unfortunately, my son did not receive the level of care he needed before, as the staff were often too busy. As a result, he became sick with RSV and Flu B within his first week. That experience made me realise how important proper staff-to-child ratios are, so educators can truly care for each child without feeling overwhelmed. I also learned that the size of the classroom matters just as much. Even when the ratio meets regulations, having up to 20 toddlers in one room can still feel overwhelming for both children and educators. In my experience, this is simply too much for such young children who need close attention and emotional support. Since coming to Nottingham World of Learning, everything has changed. The educators genuinely know my son, remember his needs, and care about him as an individual. They are very attentive to hygiene, especially washing his hands regularly, which has significantly reduced how often he gets sick. I no longer feel anxious about sending him to daycare. Every day is a happy day for him here. I receive regular updates about his routine and learning milestones, and I truly appreciate that they have a proper learning plan for him. It’s not just free play until pick-up time—he is engaged in meaningful and fun learning activities every day. I am so thankful for the love, professionalism, and dedication of the team. Choosing Nottingham World of Learning has been one of the best decisions for my son and our family. Highly recommended.
