About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and tailored to meet the developmental needs and interests of each child. We foster children’s learning through intentional teaching, children’s interest and spontaneous experiences, we support children’s growth across all learning areas: social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative. We integrate nature, community engagement, and cultural learning into our daily practices to enrich every child’s early education journey.
The centre champions Integricare’s purpose to enable children, families and communities to experience the love of Jesus, as well as North Strathfield’s core mission objectives.
Firstly, the pursuit of excellence in early learning to ensure that these most crucial developmental years for the children are full of learning opportunities. Secondly, North Strathfield staff endeavour to equip and care for families holistically – going the extra mile to engage and support children and their families. Thirdly, North Strathfield Early Learning Centre prioritises community engagement, regularly partnering with local initiatives in the Inner West.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Integricare's Early Learning Centre North Strathfield views the family as a child’s primary teacher. Educators work in partnership with families for the best interests of every child. We believe that families are a child's first and most important teachers. We welcome and value parent involvement through regular communication via Storypark, face-to-face conversations, and family events. Your insights, feedback, and participation help us create a collaborative, supportive community that benefits every child.
The centre provides a developmental portfolio for each child that documents their learning, interests and friendship groups. It also offers a rich array of information resources and an online parent portal where families can stay up to date with activities and events.
To further support families, the centre organises supported playgroups. This provides a structured and positive learning environment in which children can socialise. It’s also a great way for parents to meet and share their experiences.
Every supported playgroup is facilitated by trained early childhood and family support workers. The team can refer and link families to health and community services and the centre partners with specialist services where needed to give appropriate support.
The centre has Family Workers, who support families with children between the ages of 0 and 8 years. By conducting comprehensive assessments, Family Workers are able to help families identify their immediate needs and then support them through a case management process. The centre also provides a home or outreach visiting service for children and family members.

When they first had a hard time adjusting to this place, the experienced educators took great care of us, and thanks to that, our children came to love this centre. They gained learning and confidence here before going to school, and most of all, they felt a sense of belonging with their educators and friends. They will never forget their memories here. We chose Integricare North Strathfield for our son as the staff immediately made us feel relaxed, welcome and at home, right from the first tour. The Educators are very attentive and take the time to get to know each individual child. Our son loves his Educators and feels very comfortable and happy to attend daycare, which is such a relief for us as parents. The kids enjoy creative play-based learning and lots of outdoor time. Our son also loves the food - thanks Chef! The Centre is culturally inclusive and actively celebrates the diversity of the kids and their families. 🎉 Integricare Northmead celebrated NAIDOC Week with a range of exciting activities! This special week expanded our learning about First Nations people and Australia's history, culture, and traditions. 👩🏫 We had an amazing visit from Miss Cynthia, an Aboriginal Kindy teacher, who introduced us to the traditional Aboriginal paint called "Ochre." Derived from grinding natural pigments and minerals found in underwater rocks, ochre was used to paint dots on the children's faces and on the artwork, which they absolutely loved! 📖 Aunty Cynthia also shared captivating stories and led arts and craft activities. One highlight was the exploration of a real emu egg that she had painted. The children compared it to a chicken egg and learned that male emus take care of the eggs and the chicks after they hatch. 🦘 Our kangaroo dress-up and tapping stick activity was a hit! The children enjoyed learning about Aboriginal people's love for nature and animals through this fun experience. 🎶 We also had the opportunity to learn Aboriginal language songs and counting numbers. The children eagerly picked up words like "Warrami" (hello), "Nallawah" (sit down), and "Mittagar" (friends). We even sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" in the Aboriginal language and practised counting to ten. The educators and children were inspired to create beautiful dot-marking artwork, exploring creativity and cultural connection! We extend a huge thank you to Aunty Cynthia for sharing her traditional art, craft, and stories with us. 🌏 Integricare North Strathfield, located in the beautiful Wangal country within the Canada Bay council area, has dedicated NAIDOC Week to deeply exploring the rich history, traditions, and connection to waterways of the Wangal people. 📚 The children engaged in immersive learning and research, discovering the significance of natural elements like sticks, shells, and rocks. They learned about how the Wangal people's connection to waterways shaped diet, which includes seafood caught using traditional fishing traps. 🎨 Further activities included creating artwork inspired by the Wangal people's deep bond with the country, sea, and land. The children also crafted sculptures inspired by Edward Clarke's 'Fish Traps' installation, part of the Inner West Council's 'Gadigal Wangal Wayfinding Project.' At Integricare Auburn, we're honouring the rich cultural heritage of campfires during NAIDOC Week! For thousands of years, campfires have been central to daily life, providing light, warmth, and a place to cook food. They are also much more – a communal space for sharing stories, songs, and spending time together. The children explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learning and stories revolving around the campfire, highlighting its significance in bringing people together and fostering community. 🌟 To build this learning, the children then created a campfire using logs, branches, cello paper as flames, and a tea light. The children loved cooperating to build this campfire. 🔥 Next, after bonding by the warm fire, the children were read the story "Warnayarra the Rainbow Snake." This inspired them to paint their own rainbow snakes, letting their imaginations thrive! 🎨🐍 Join us in celebrating NAIDOC Week at Integricare!
