We are very grateful that we found and chose Nought to Five as the child care for our daughter. To be honest, it wasn't on top of our list of choices since there is another child care which is closer to our home and more convenient for us. However, this was changed when we visited it for a tour. We could feel the warmth and peacefulness during the tour. So, although it is a little bit further away from our home and less convenient for us, we decided to choose this centre and it was all worth it. With the help of her educators, our daughter settled in very quickly and since then she enjoyed every minute she spent in the centre. She developed friendship not just with her peers but also with the educators. We could see the educators genuine care and love for her. It is such a happy, fun, and loving place so that after 3 years, it was sad to say goodbye when our daughter went to the 'big' school. We will miss this place and it will always have a special place in our hearts. If you're looking for a child care, we highly recommend this child care. We also suggest that you organise tour so you can see the activities yourself. This is a purpose built centre and has a secure, nice and large outdoor play area. One of the key factors in our decision was that the staff turn over in this centre is very low. They have many experience educators who have worked there for many years. The other important point for us was that the staff to child ratio exceeds the government requirement which is very hard to find in other centres around the area. All the staff were very friendly and communicative and we were always kept up-to-date with our daughter developments either verbally or through their regular newsletters. When required we could easily have discussion with them during pick up or drop off. They worked together with us to address specific needs of our daughter. Lastly, since it's a community based and not-for-profit centre, all the incoming funds are invested back to the centre.
My two children have been attending from when they were 6 months old, I have found every aspect of our experience there exceeding of my expectations. Some differentiating factors are - 1. Minimal turn over of staff (many have been there 10+ years) 2. Highly experienced and qualified staff 3. Lower staff to child ratio than industry standard 4. Team culture. I can really sense that there is a strong culture of passion, accountability and dedication to providing high quality care, and everyone looks out for each other 5. Staff diversity (in experience, age/lifestage, cultural background etc) The only minus is that traffic can be a challenge due to its location, but a problem I'm more than happy to deal with everyday knowing and trusting that my kids are happy and thriving!
