Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy
Montessori education is a personalised approach developed by Dr Maria Montessori, proven successful for over a century. It tailors learning to each child's style, stage, and interests, fostering academic and well-being foundations through hands-on experiences and real-world problem-solving. Montessori educators observe children's interests and guide them toward relevant materials for purposeful and engaging learning. This method acknowledges diverse learning paces and preferences, promoting respect, independence, and freedom for children to direct their own learning, leading to high motivation and a love for learning.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The curriculum at Montessori Academy follows a blended approach, drawing on both Montessori principles and the Early Years Learning Framework. The curriculum follows five key learning areas:
- Practical Life: exercises and activities that children observe in daily life to develop their independence, concentration and fine motor skills.
- Sensorial: activities that help to refine the senses and lay the foundation of early mathematics, language and geometry.
- Mathematics: hands on experiences that teach both abstract and concrete mathematical concepts.
- Language: exercises that help the children to develop their vocabulary and understanding of language.
- Cultural Studies: children learn about culture and community through subjects such as Geography, Botany, Zoology, Science, History, Music and Art.
The educators use Montessori materials to teach the curriculum and tailor the learning to each individual child.
Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy
Montessori early learning centres differ from conventional preschools and childcare facilities. They create an ideal learning environment, offer customized educational materials, and provide guidance to support holistic child development. Montessori education is active, adaptable to each child's pace, encourages self-correction, and aligns with individual interests. Its overarching objective is to equip children with the knowledge and abilities needed for lifelong learning, fostering confidence, independence, and a thirst for knowledge.
Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
Many families choose Montessori Academy because it aligns with their parenting style, beliefs about early childhood education, and their child's future aspirations. The adjustment wasn't easy but the staff was very supportive both to the parents and our little girl. The centre is a very smart build, we particularly like that they have separate cot rooms and beds for older children (not mattresses). Also every room has its own access to the outdoor play area. The Montessori activities suit children's age and keep our little one busy and happy there, also in mind with the development support, like playing with tongs (our MCH nurse was very impressed as it was something she recommended doing at home, and we already did for at least 6 months in the centre). In general every room we went (already 3) is very tidy and organised and all the staff is friendly and supportive to the kids. We can definitely say that our girl learns a lot there, like counting till 10, painting , singing different songs, reading books and just good social skills they introduce to the children. We are very glad to choose Montessori from the start and highly recommend it! Read more
