About Nido Early School Redwood Park

  • Our educators bring learning to life through engaging experiences like drama, library visits, sports, Happy Feet Thursdays, and cultural arts activities that spark creativity and confidence.
  • Children enjoy regular nature walks in partnership with Tea Tree Gully Council, building a strong connection to their local environment.
  • Unique programs such as our pen pal initiative with Nido Golden Grove North foster communication skills and friendships across communities.

At Nido Redwood Park, we provide exceptional education and care for children from six weeks to school age. Our focus is on nurturing every child while creating fun, meaningful learning experiences each day. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we build strong, respectful relationships with children and families to support their growth and development.

Safety is central to everything we do. We follow national child-safe standards, maintain clear supervision, and provide ongoing training for our educators to ensure children feel secure and cared for.

Learning is child-led and engaging. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and co-designed with families to balance literacy, numeracy, creativity, and well-being. Educators integrate each child’s interests and strengths into hands-on experiences that make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Our environments inspire exploration and creativity. Children enjoy thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces, from art ateliers and piazzas to climbing areas, water play, and mature gardens.

Community is central to our philosophy. We nurture strong partnerships with families and the wider community through events, projects, and shared experiences.

At Nido, every day is an opportunity to nurture confident, capable learners through safe, inspiring environments and meaningful experiences. Guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we turn everyday moments into lasting learning that shapes each child’s future.

Safety

Safety

Safety matters every day.
Every day, safety comes first at Nido. Across all our early schools, we work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards in safety. This commitment underpins every decision we make and every interaction we have with children and families.

We have embedded the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across all our practices to ensure safe behaviours, environments, and accountability are part of everything we do.

Strong supervision and ongoing training
All Educators participate in an 8-week active supervision program, along with regular training and safety alerts. This ensures teams are vigilant, responsive, and prepared for every situation.

Safe design, technology and electronic devices
Our early school layouts are designed for maximum visibility and supervision. CCTV is installed externally at most of our early schools to enhance security. For the protection of all children, the use of personal devices to take photos or videos of children is prohibited for all Nido team members, students, volunteers, and visitors.

Rigorous recruitment and compliance
Our recruitment process includes enhanced screening, comprehensive reference checks, and clear expectations around child safety. Working with Children Checks are strictly managed and continuously monitored.

Professional learning and guidance
Educators receive regular training through leading Registered Training Organisations. Policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current legislation and best practice, ensuring everyone understands the behaviours and standards expected.

Comprehensive health and safety
We maintain secure single-point entry systems, and our staff are trained in first aid, asthma, anaphylaxis care, and food safety. We follow strict medication management protocols, a Cancer Council-accredited Sun Smart policy, and promote hygiene through engaging activities. Our schools take allergies seriously, including nut awareness, to help keep every child safe and included at mealtimes. Any incidents are documented and promptly communicated with families.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

We value strong partnerships with families and actively involve parents in their child’s learning journey. From enrolment, we collaborate with families to understand routines, interests, and goals, tailoring programs to meet individual needs.

Communication is open and transparent, with regular updates, photos, and videos shared through our Playground App. Families are encouraged to participate in events and classroom activities, ensuring they feel connected to their child’s learning every day.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

At Nido Redwood Park, Key Word Sign is integrated into daily learning to enhance communication and inclusion. From cooking and gardening to science and cultural activities, our curriculum turns everyday experiences into opportunities for lifelong learning.

Cannot speak more highly of Nido at RWP. We moved our child here almost a year ago and have had absolutely nothing but positive experiences since. If you're an anxious parent or looking for a childcare that provides detailed updates daily, as well as a diverse and fun curriculum, this centre is perfect. Our child has learned so much in her time at Nido so far, and all of her educators have been fantastic. Special mention to her new room leader who truly has become a safe person for our child (who does struggle with sensory issues and sometimes does require that extra reassurance). Looking forward to our second child beginning his time here in January 🙂😊💕

Response from the owner 08 Aug 2025

Thank you, Ruby, for your kind words and for trusting us with your child’s care and education. It’s wonderful to hear about the progress and positive experiences you’ve had. We truly value being part of your family’s journey and look forward to welcoming your second child in January!
