Welcome to Lavender Bay Preschool

Catering to children aged 2 to 6 years, Lavender Bay Preschool offers a nurturing environment that will prepare children for a lifetime of learning. Within a Christian framework, the educators support the children on their learning journey, also ensuring they’re ready for the transition to school. 

The indoor learning spaces at the centre are spacious with large windows that allow natural light to filter into the rooms. The rooms are flexible to accommodate different learning styles and activities, with both large and small group experiences. The rooms are well-equipped with a range of resources to support active and engaged learning.

Programs

The program at Lavender Bay Preschool introduces the children to a range of skills, incorporating small group learning activities and structured and unstructured play-based learning.

The programs include:

  • Sports: specialist coaches visit the centre twice a week to introduce the children to different sports and skills.
  • Community: the centre works in partnership with St Augustine’s church to support local families.
  • Creative play: the children learn self-expression through various forms of creativity.
  • Languages: the centre focuses on a different language each year so the children can learn to respect different cultures.
  • Yoga: each week, the children enjoy ‘zen’ time with a yoga class.
  • Outdoor play: making the most of the large outdoor area, the children explore the world around them.
  • School readiness program: run by an Early Childhood Teacher, the program helps the children to prepare for the transition to big school.
