About Care for Kindies - Leppington

Welcome to Care for Kindies - Leppington.

Our award-winning Leppington childcare centre – Camden Valley Way provides long day care and pre-school for children six weeks to six years old. Our daycare facility features wide open spaces and an expansive playground that gives children room to learn and grow. We enjoy a range of activities that make the most of being outdoors, from soccer lessons and gardening to reading and playing outside.

We are a small centre and we've been here for over 30 years. We are owned and run by the same family who started Care for Kindies over 3 decades ago. Our Centre Directors and many of our educators have been with us for over 10 years and that means we operate as one, big, extended family. When you join Care for Kindies, you too become part of our family and we are excited to watch every child spread their wings when they go off to big school. Many of our families still join us for events throughout the year, even though their children have long since left the Centre.

Our experienced educators care for children aged six weeks to six years, in rooms carefully designed to engage children in our early education program and cater to their changing needs, interests and abilities. Our children are encouraged to take an active role in their learning journeys, meaning that we listen to them and allow them to develop their skills based on the interests they have, their activities at home, and their own individual abilities. We tailor every activity and experience to each child and actively involve their families and their culture in daily life at the centre.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

We’ve designed a unique early child education program that encourages children to learn, explore and discover the world around them. Our childhood education program based on the principles of the National Early Learning Framework but goes well beyond these standards, to give your child the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to thrive.

We incorporate the teaching philosophies of several different early-education theorists including:

- Reggio Emilia approach
- Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory
- Bronfenbrenners Ecological Systems Theory

We believe that by combining multiple perspectives, we can best equip our children with the appropriate skills and knowledge for age appropriate development.

We offer a comprehensive School Readiness program which enables each of our children to be very well prepared for the transition to Kindergarten, taking with them a love of learning. However, the school transition is not only about developing cognitive skills, so we also place a strong focus on being socially, emotionally and physically ready.

My children started at Care for Kindies late last year after being at another local daycare, and the experience has been night and day. From our very first contact—when I was crying on the phone after my 12-month-old son had been involved in some incidents at his previous daycare—the director went above and beyond to make things happen and secure us an immediate place. My youngest was very unsettled at his previous daycare and would cry all day long—from the moment I dropped him off in the morning until I picked him up in the afternoon, and sometimes even the whole way home. I couldn’t leave him with anyone else; he would scream the house down, even with his very familiar grandparents. Just a few months later at Care for Kindies, he is happy to go to anyone, doesn’t cry at drop-off, and confidently joins activities with the other children—huge steps for an 18-month-old. It has been incredibly reassuring to see him develop such a strong sense of security, belonging, and confidence in a nurturing and supportive environment. My eldest is absolutely thriving and comes home telling me all about his fun day with his friends and teachers. His learning at preschool is clearly evident and continues at home, which reflects how engaged and involved he is in meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the centre. All of the educators are experienced mums who have been at the centre for as long as 20+ years. There is zero staff turnover, and every educator is familiar to my family, knowing both of my children—and myself—by name. Each educator has their designated rooms but will often move between spaces to build connections with all of the children. This creates a genuine family-style environment where relationships are at the heart of everything, and educators truly understand each child’s individual interests, strengths, and needs. The directors also work on the floor within the rooms, ensuring they know every child personally and can communicate openly with families about their children’s experiences. This strong partnership with families creates trust and a real sense of continuity between home and care. Care for Kindies is a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment built on respectful and trusting relationships. I have never worried about my children while they are there—unlike our previous daycare, where I felt too anxious to go to work without knowing they were in safe, loving hands. I would recommend Care for Kindies to anyone looking for a small, family-owned service—something that was completely non-negotiable for me when choosing a new service for my boys. I am forever grateful to Theresa and the entire team for their kindness, compassion, and the positive impact they have had on my family. These qualities are incredibly rare in an industry that predominantly values childcare as a money making machine. Care for Kindies is the complete opposite of that and you will feel it as soon as you walk in.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, Jessica — we are truly grateful for your trust and kind words. We’re overjoyed to hear your youngest is settled and confident and that your eldest is thriving and bringing learning home. It means everything to our team to be recognised for long-term, familiar educators, directors who work alongside the children, and the genuine family environment we aim to provide. We’re honoured to care for your boys and will continue to support their growth, confidence, and happiness every day.

I have been with CFK Leppington since 2017. Both my children have experienced a sense of belonging, feeling safe, valued, stimulated and happy. My experience of all staff has been extremely positive. Educators are thorough and provide an age appropriate environment for children to learn (academically, socially and emotionally) and thrive. Staff have meticulously cared for and catered for the special needs of my daughter. I am so grateful to every educator at CFK Leppington who has had a hand in raising my children. Oh, and did I mention the outdoor area? It’s huge and incredible! I will be very sad to leave as my youngest begins her Primary School Adventure. I highly recommend CFK Leppington to anyone looking for a wonderful early years environment for their child/ren.
