Meet the team

Hello, my name is Camila, and I am the Centre Manager for Bluebird Early Education Leppington. I hold my Diploma in Early Education.

My passion for working with children began when I completed my year 10 work experience in a childcare service, and from that moment on, I knew I had a passion for working with children. In my 18 years of being in the early childhood industry, I have worked as an Educator, Room Leader, 2IC and then Manager for the last 12 years.

Having been in so many roles gave me the opportunity to gain extensive experience and knowledge and be able to lead and embed all this knowledge into everything I do. My cultural background is Chilean and English. I love to learn about new cultures and traditions and embed this into the Service to create a sense of identity and belonging for all.

I support each child’s individual journey and am proud to be able to be part of them developing their identity, knowledge, understanding, skills and relationships as they are all contributing factors to them becoming active members of the community. I like to create meaningful relationships with our community as this supports the children in building an understanding of the world around them.

As Dr. Seuss quotes, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory”.

Through building strong relationships with the children, families and team, I know that every memory created at Bluebird will be memorable. I look forward to meeting you and starting our Bluebird journey together!
About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The Kindergarten program is a complete cycle of each individual child’s development. Educators see and learn the ways children take on new knowledge and adapt their teaching practices to cater for them. The environment is busy and forever changing as learning evolves.

Through many literacy games, active outdoor play, and day-to-day activities, Educators strive to get each child ready for their first year of school, providing them with the emotional, physical and intellectual support.

Qualified Teachers constantly critically reflect on their curriculum, ensuring that it’s at its best for the diversity within the centre. A home away from home, where learning takes flight with the little Bluebirds.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Kindy of Kindness - Initiatives may include visits to aged care facilities, baking for the local emergency services, and fund-raising projects to assist charity groups.

Sustainability Program - By taking part in daily sustainable living practices including recycling, composting, worm farming, energy and water saving, the children develop a working understanding of how they can play a vital role in protecting the environment.

Community connections - By forging strong community ties they enable the children to develop a deep sense of belonging and connection to the world around them, construct an understanding of how society works, and begin to recognise and respect the shared values that unite us.

Technology focus - Technology is introduced through a play based approach. Educators role model and assist children to gain new knowledge and to better understand concepts through the designated computer programs.

Health & Nutrition

Health & Nutrition

The centre believes in a hands-on approach to teaching children about food, which is why cooking classes are offered as part of the curriculum.

Children are encouraged to help out where they can, whether that’s chopping fruit for smoothies or pouring them out for everyone.

Food is used as a way to teach children about identifying their needs and attending to them. Children can access drink stations and fruit bowls for a quick snack.

My 2 granddaughters attend this centre. The management is exceptional. Camila is always smiling always filling in all the families and takes the time to get to know each child individually. The structure of the premises is well designed and caters for the children’s needs allowing indoor outdoor exploration and minimising blind spots. I strongly recommend this service. The educators are all very friendly and experienced. Amazing feel from the moment you walk in.
