About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

As a family-run business, we provide affordable options while maintaining the highest standards in our educational services. Our teaching philosophy focuses on learning through play, utilizing an inquiry-based curriculum that encourages meaningful hands-on exploration.

A play-based center curriculum emphasizes the importance of play as a fundamental component of childhood learning and development. By integrating playful activities into the daily routine, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and engage with their environment in meaningful ways. This approach nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and social skills, allowing children to learn at their own pace while fostering a love for learning. Activities are often designed to be hands-on and interactive, promoting inquiry and discovery as children pursue their interests. Through play, educators can observe and support each child's unique learning journey, ensuring that the curriculum is both educational and enjoyable.

My Daughter loves coming here her teachers are lovely. My son used to go here and Miss Hanna still asks about him every time and goes out of her way to ask how he is going in school when he comes in.

Be aware of Plainland Kindergarten & Child Care Centre. Can’t make complaints without them making a false report to child safety. Absolutely disgusting. The report was made on 12th June 2025 -the same date I sent a lengthy email in regard to issues I was facing when my boy attended the centre. The report was stating we didn’t take our child to the doctor for a follow up appointment- however, I have a medical clearance for my child stating he is fit to return, dated the 10th of June. Issues we raised: transitioning to toddler room without notifying either parent. Dropping his second nap due to this transition- disregarding the fact that he was premmie and actually needed that second nap. Always calling us to pick him up for ‘not being himself’ when he was just tired. After a nap, he was fine! Listing dairy as an allergy-they would give him milk. Listing cinnamon as a possible allergy- gave him apple & cinnamon cake. Going head first down a slide Being left alone outside of the playground with no one watching him because he was “eating sand”. - dad saw this. An educator claiming at least 3 or more times on separate occasions that my boy was “targeting the girls and always pushing/hitting the girls”. He was 15 months old! He doesn’t know the difference between a boy amd a girl! Icing on the cake: Coming home with a burn on his finger and staff not noticing it at all!? Not once did I make formal complaints to dept. of education in hopes the centre would listen to us as parents and make positive changes. But I have 3 years. Guess I will be putting those complaints in now. Absolutely disgusting, petty, childish behaviour. So parents of PLKCC- don’t make complaints or suggestions to the centre, they’ll just make false reports to child safety. I thought I was being civil and leaving on a somewhat good note. But instead I get a call from child safety, who have visited us today and closed the case within 5 minutes of viewing the medical clearance.

We’re sorry to hear you were unhappy with our service. Please know that the issue you referenced was reported 9months ago, and we have followed all policies and procedures to protect the best interests and safety of every child involved. We regret that this situation caused you distress. We are open to meeting to explain our actions and to address any questions you may have. This was not meant as a personal confrontation, and we want to resolve concerns constructively. Regarding the outstanding balance, we encourage you to settle it promptly. If there has been any misunderstanding about a debt or billing, we’re happy to review it with you directly. If you’re willing, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further in a private conversation rather than through a public review. Our door is always open to educate and engage in a transparent dialogue.

Mr Tom, Ms Jacinta, Ms Coops & the team have created a lovely environment for our girls to play and learn in. They both enjoy attending, always someone ready to give them cuddles at drop off and what’s most reassuring is they’re happy girls at pick and have stories to tell about their day. The team creates a warm welcoming environment, clean, organises excursions & encourages learning through play.

Response from the owner 05 Mar 2026

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear your girls feel happy, safe, and excited to share their day with you. Mr Tom, Ms Jacinta, Ms Coops, and the whole team are dedicated to creating a warm, clean, and engaging environment where learning happens through play and exploration. We appreciate your kind words and are glad the excursions and everyday drop-off experiences resonate with you. If you ever have questions or would like to discuss anything further, we’re always here.
