Meet the team

Hello, my name is Jackie, and I am the Centre Manager at Bluebird Botanic Ridge. I am also a proud mum to my beautiful 10-year-old son.

I have over six years of experience in Early Childhood and hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am deeply passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where children feel secure, respected, and confident to express themselves. I believe children thrive when they have strong connections and trusted relationships with those around them, and I value children’s voices and rights, embedding these into everyday practice guided by the Child Safe Standards.

I truly enjoy working within a supportive team environment and take great pride in mentoring and guiding Educators to reflect, grow, and strengthen their professional practice. I am committed to building positive and inclusive community relationships and working in partnership to support each child’s learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.

I believe every Educator has their own individual strengths, and supporting them to recognise these and build confidence is something I am extremely passionate about.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Bluebird Botanic Ridge and working in partnership to support your child’s learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Please feel free to reach out at any time — I am always happy to connect and support our community.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The Kindergarten program is a complete cycle of each individual child’s development. Educators see and learn the ways children take on new knowledge and adapt their teaching practices to cater for them. The environment is busy and forever changing as learning evolves. You’ll often find the Kinder children out at Forest School, where the natural environment is the teacher.

Through many literacy games, active outdoor play, and day-to-day activities, Educators strive to get each child ready for their first year of school, providing them with the emotional, physical and intellectual support.

Qualified Teachers constantly critically reflect on their curriculum, ensuring that it’s at its best for the diversity within the centre. A home away from home, where learning takes flight with the little Bluebirds.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Forest School Program - Each week the children will travel to a local national park or bushland area, where they will be able to play and explore freely, under the discrete observation of the educators.

Kindy of Kindness - Initiatives may include visits to aged care facilities, baking for the local emergency services, and fund-raising projects to assist charity groups.

Sustainability Program - By taking part in daily sustainable living practices including recycling, composting, worm farming, energy and water saving, the children develop a working understanding of how they can play a vital role in protecting the environment.

Community connections - By forging strong community ties they enable the children to develop a deep sense of belonging and connection to the world around them, construct an understanding of how society works, and begin to recognise and respect the shared values that unite us.

Technology focus - Technology is introduced through a play based approach. Educators role model and assist children to gain new knowledge and to better understand concepts through the designated computer programs.

Health & Nutrition

Health & Nutrition

The centre believes in a hands-on approach to teaching children about food, which is why cooking classes are offered as part of the curriculum.

Children are encouraged to help out where they can, whether that’s chopping fruit for smoothies or pouring them out for everyone.

Food is used as a way to teach children about identifying their needs and attending to them. Children can access drink stations and fruit bowls for a quick snack.

Based on my observations during a tour of the service, I had some concerns that may be relevant for families to consider. A number of the online 5-star reviews appeared to be linked to individuals connected within the service (staff, upper management), which I felt was worth noting. I also observed frequent staff changes (ratio was not met in spaces appearing chaotic and unsafe) and was informed that several families had recently withdrawn enrolments. During my visit, resources appeared limited and I did not observe a consistent leadership presence. Families may wish to familiarise themselves with what to look for when choosing an early learning service. Undertaking independent research can help ensure a service aligns with your family’s expectations around quality, stability and safety.

I’d like to start by saying how amazing the team at Bluebird Botanic Ridge is. Every interaction I’ve had regarding both my girls in Grevillea and Waratah has been consistently positive, supportive, and respectful. The management team has also addressed any concerns or questions I’ve had in a professional and timely manner. As both a staff member and a parent at Botanic Ridge, I couldn’t be happier!

Response from the owner 02 Dec 2025

Thank you, Erica, for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It’s wonderful to hear how supported you feel across both the Grevillea and Waratah Studios. Our Educators and Management team are truly passionate about creating a positive, respectful environment for our community, and it means so much to see that reflected in your experience.
