Building Futures Care - Family Day Care Scheme Centre overview
Family Day Care is care that is provided in an educators home in small group settings. The child’s social and emotional well-being is made a priority, with tailored educational opportunities offered by trained early childhood professionals.
Family Day Care can offer flexible options for families, with potential for outside of normal hours care such as sleepover or night care, weekend care and before and after school care.
Families that choose to enrol their children in a Family Day Care setting are typically eligible for the childcare subsidy.
Family day care operates under the same National Quality Framework (NQF) as other forms of child care; incorporating National Regulations, National Quality Standards educational frameworks and an assessment and ratings process.
All Educators working with Building Futures Care are thoroughly vetted according to Australian regulations.

When I arrive early there is often no one available to help me with my child, even when he is unsettled. Staff members seem to be busy and don’t notice that we need support ; even they see me they pretending they did’t see us ) this make the drop off quite challenging for both of us. And I also believe that the Montessori method may not be following correctly in the center. I haven’t seen my child using Montessori materials regularly. And I have only received a few photo showing this. As a parent I would like more reassurance that he is engaging with the proper Montessori activities and learning. Read more

Initially the admin/ management were really supportive. However, there are alot of negative aspects of putting your child in this daycare these include - the fees are ridiculous and they do not have a daily fee like other daycare facilities and so just charge what they like. - compared to other daycare facilities, the infrastructure and rooms need to be improved for the amount they are charging. There are plenty of daycares that charge less and have better rooms/facilities. If they want to charge gold star fees than the facilities/ rooms everything has to be gold star and its not. - they have a policy that if your child is attending this daycare they cannot attend another daycare. Which again is ridiculous. This is i guess to get the maximum amount of money from the system- If a parent is only sending there child to Montessori for 2 or 3 days they will then charge 11 or 12 hours CCS. I initially did not know about this and had my child there for 2 days and at another centre for 3 days. I only had 100 hours allowance and the other daycare was doing the right thing by only charging 10 hours but this daycare insisted upon overcharging me 11 hours per day for the two days - frauding the system even though my child was there for less than 10 hours per day. - the admin has no idea about how CCS works or how thier invoicing works and when you ask they try to avoid you. I have never experienced something like that and if its done long enough it gets a dodgy feeling. The only positive from the daycare was the educators and Miss Missy and they are probably let down by admin/management and the owners. The educators were the reason why we stayed as long as we did and i wish them all the best, they are beautiful lovely people. However, the negative aspects are big factors into why this place should be avoided. Read more
Hi Hania, Thank you for your very postive comments regarding our amazing educators. Our priorities are the professional development, ongoing support and high staffing levels of these amazing people. Whilst the service is 20 years old, we are continually ensuring quality maintenance and fit out, with the Montessori learning resources in good supply. We like the spaciousness of our playground and the extent of natural elements available for children to explore. I'd like to clarify that we have a daily fee that is on our fees schedule, and the CCS is applied to the session length that is 11 hours, as our centre is open from 7 am to 6 pm - 11 hours. Therefore, our families receive 11 hours of subsidy per day, except for those who attend 5 days per week, as the weekly cap is 50 hours set by the government. We would like to apologise for the delay in sorting out the confusion with your account, however the system automatically provides 11 hours of funding per day for our part-time children unless we are advised that they are accessing CCS in another setting where the 50 hour limit would apply. We do, indeed, have a policy of not sharing care. We understand that consistent connection is so important for children, and in the same way that you wouldn't sent an 8 year old to two different schools, it is even more important that younger children can build trusting relationships with a core team of educators. We avoid participating in ongoing situations of this nature due to this deeply held understanding of children's emotional needs and neuroscience. Our only exception is for those occasions when a child is intending to attend only our service and the family is waiting for additional days of availability, to work towards that consistency for them. We hope that your new service is working well for your family. Kind regards, Vicki.
