We've had such a positive experience with Nido Werribee. From day one, the admin and management team (under Christina) have been incredibly organised, responsive and genuinely supportive. Communication is always clear, and any questions or requests are handled promptly and professionally. The food provided is healthy and thoughtfully planned (big importance for us), and we especially appreciated how the team listened to and implemented our special requests without any fuss. The educators are caring, attentive and truly committed to our child's wellbeing and development. We've seen wonderful growth in our child - greater confidence, cooperation and play with other children, noticeable progress in language skills. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Our child is thriving and we feel deeply grateful for the safe, nurturing environment they've created. We would absolutely recommend this centre to any family looking for high-quality care.

Safety

Safety

Safety matters every day.
Every day, safety comes first at Nido. Across all our early schools, we work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards in safety. This commitment underpins every decision we make and every interaction we have with children and families.

We have embedded the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across all our practices to ensure safe behaviours, environments, and accountability are part of everything we do.

Strong supervision and ongoing training
All Educators participate in an 8-week active supervision program, along with regular training and safety alerts. This ensures teams are vigilant, responsive, and prepared for every situation.

Safe design, technology and electronic devices
Our early school layouts are designed for maximum visibility and supervision. CCTV is installed externally at most of our early schools to enhance security. For the protection of all children, the use of personal devices to take photos or videos of children is prohibited for all Nido team members, students, volunteers, and visitors.

Rigorous recruitment and compliance
Our recruitment process includes enhanced screening, comprehensive reference checks, and clear expectations around child safety. Working with Children Checks are strictly managed and continuously monitored.

Professional learning and guidance
Educators receive regular training through leading Registered Training Organisations. Policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current legislation and best practice, ensuring everyone understands the behaviours and standards expected.

Comprehensive health and safety
We maintain secure single-point entry systems, and our staff are trained in first aid, asthma, anaphylaxis care, and food safety. We follow strict medication management protocols, a Cancer Council-accredited Sun Smart policy, and promote hygiene through engaging activities. Our schools take allergies seriously, including nut awareness, to help keep every child safe and included at mealtimes. Any incidents are documented and promptly communicated with families.

Programs

Programs

Educators and teachers aim to ensure all children feel welcome, valued and excited about learning, with a range of innovative programs.

Education: inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, the educators equip the children with the skills needed for school and beyond.

Wellbeing: through yoga, mindfulness, art and self-regulation strategies, the children learn to express their feelings.

Community: the educators encourage community engagement to foster belonging, empathy, responsibility and caring in the children. They also learn about diverse cultures, values and languages including Indigenous culture.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Nido Early School is committed to quality care and learning delivered by an outstanding team of degree-qualified teachers and skilled educators. The team inspires and challenges each other, working together to collectively offer the very best in childcare.

The service hires only passionate and committed team members. It provides a comprehensive induction and onboarding program. All staff also have enhanced learning and development opportunities through the ECA Learning Hub, an online professional learning platform designed specifically for early childhood education and care professionals.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Nido Early School understands that no one knows a child like their family. The service actively engages with parents and family members to ensure children have the very best care.

The team works with family members at enrolment and also regularly seeks updates on children’s schedules and current interests. This helps them to develop tailored programs that meet individual educational, physical, cultural and emotional needs.

Parents are welcome to chat with staff at drop off and pick up, and to contact the team at any stage via phone, email or the service’s ‘Playground’ App. The service regularly sends updates on children’s progress, and photos and videos of children during play and learning activities.

With an ‘open door policy’, parents are welcome to join in activities and events, and to share breakfast with children at the popular breaky bar.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The curriculum at Nido Early School is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Designed to support the children in the early years and as they prepare for the transition to school, the curriculum is play-based and engaging.

The curriculum is delivered in three stages:

Nursery (6 weeks to 18 months)

In the nursery, the children are nurtured as they develop early connections with their educators. They read stories, play and explore the world around them.

The children start to develop their sense of identity and understand that they are part of a broader community. They start to explore their feelings and emotions and also try new things. Developing early communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal is also a big focus for the children in this age group.

Toddlers (18 months to 3 years)

The educators encourage the toddlers to develop their independence and autonomy. They have opportunities to build their social skills and early friendships while also learning to regulate their emotions.

As the children take safe risks in their learning, the educators also encourage their problem solving skills. Self-expression and communication are also important.

Kindergarten (3 years to school)

The Kindergarten curriculum helps to prepare the children for the big transition to big school. The children have a strong sense of self and understand their role in the community. They participate in peer activities and understand their own emotions.

They are always questioning how things work and practising their verbal and listening skills as strong communicators.

We love NIDO Werribee. Our children have been to two other childcare centres before we finally found our happy place at NIDO. All the staff are lovely and engaging, the baby room is small with caring educators and my daughter has gotten such good care from day one. My son loves his room and his teachers and has made so many friends. All the educators know my children's names, and everyone says hello every day and they're always doing something with the kids. The manager Cristina is the best, friendly and knowledgeable, chef Tony always cooking yummy food- I don't want to name just a few educators because they're all so good. Thankyou NIDO Werribee! I'm so happy my kids enjoy going and it puts my mind at ease knowing they're having fun and are cared for everyday.

Hello fellow families who are seeing this review, We decided to go ahead with Nido after checking three other day cares ( others were good too) but Nido is the bestttt!!!! From the front desk staff, Nikka, Christina, Kylie , always welcoming us with a smile to the Chef who cooks just such delicious meals and has a warm heart to always welcome the kids and their families. I have made the best decision for my baby. I want to specially mention the Nursery staff Manisha and Rajni who are usually there to welcome us whenever we drop our baby. Always standing there with a smile on their faces and ready to distract our baby in case any cry happens. Thanks Manisha and Rajni Some days there is Clover and another staff probably from a diff room and they are so delightful when they welcome us . Such amazing Staff you have got Nido( you are lucky that people who work with you really care for the children) Story park updates are great and whatever feedback we give about our baby is always taken so well and positively. Thanks Nido for giving our baby the care and cuddles. Happy parents 😊
