What is a Complying Written Agreement (CWA) and when do I sign it?

A Complying Written Agreement (CWA) is a required agreement between you and your childcare service that outlines your child’s care arrangements, including days, hours, fees and start date. It must be signed before Child Care Subsidy (CCS) can be applied. You’ll usually sign the CWA after accepting a childcare offer and during the enrolment process. While it may sound formal, it’s simply a way to ensure both you and the service are clear on how care will work. You don’t need your CCS fully set up before signing, but without a signed CWA, subsidy payments cannot begin. Taking a few minutes to review the details before signing can help ensure everything is set up correctly from the start.
