When deciding where a child will go that mimics my families values, play philosophy and care- This kindy is fantastic! The teaching crew and early childhood staff crew are a big family. I have been very reluctant and careful with choices for my children over the years. And this is the best kindy in Cairns! The educational aspects is very highly valued. Supportive language and interests are well catered to on a one on one basis- a few years back my fourth child was very interested in a certain dinosaur- all the educators researched and found resources around this one dino! I love how much they all love being there! And anxious children are well cared for Come experience high quality kindy! The bush kindy is such a fun parent and child time too! FCC kindy is the most incredible kindy ever. The educators are so kind, caring and professional with all the daily activities planned not only around the learning requirements of the kids but their interests too. The nature playground is beautiful and the extra curricular things that they participate in are so great for the kids, like bush kindy, library visits, music etc. We have been a part of the FCC kindy community for 3 years now and absolutely love it.
Welcome to Freshwater Christian College’s Kindergarten in Cairns, where we offer a nurturing Christian-based education.
The exceptional Freshwater College team and qualified educators create a safe, caring, and happy learning environment that prepares your child for a lifelong journey of faith and knowledge. With a focus on building strong relationships with families, we tailor our play-based learning to inspire and challenge every child. We work closely with Prep teachers to ensure a seamless transition to Primary school, laying a solid foundation for their continued academic and spiritual growth. We cater for 60 children per day from 3 years of age until they are ready to attend Prep. We believe at Freshwater Christian Kindergarten that quality, trained staff is the key to our success; and research supports the premise that high-quality trained staff make a huge difference to the outcomes for children.
We have a full roster of a non-teaching Director, at least seven staff members consisting of one Early Childhood Teacher in each room, and a trained Educator in each room; plus support staff daily.
The centre has 2 sessions daily; Session One is between 7 am to 3 pm - Monday to Friday Session Two is between 3 pm to 5.30 pm - Monday to Friday.
Our Bush Kindy program runs twice a week on Tuesday and Friday mornings during terms two and three outside in the bushland and creek on the edge of our College oval, and other spots around our beautiful property. It will run for 2-3 hours, in all weather conditions. These sessions are planned, but flexible.
