Lollipop Lane Kindergarten and Early Education Centre

Lollipop Lane is very proud to have a team of long term, caring Educators, who have been in the Lollipop family for many years, with the Director, Assistant Director and WHS Officer having a collective 40+ years on site.

Every member of the  team is dedicated to providing the highest standards of care and early learning. Educators work collaboratively to provide a holistic early learning journey for the children in a safe, fun, respectful and educational environment. 

The team fosters the centre’s strong connections with families and the community, built over the last 30 years.

Lollipop Lane prioritises family communications to ensure parents and carers are actively involved in their children's learning. Together, daily and ongoing communications build long-lasting and trusting family relationships, which is key to gaining a meaningful understanding of children's needs and interests.

Lollipop Lane uses a tool called EarlyWorks to assist with their early childhood programming, documentation and portfolio management. The software helps educators develop highly detailed and personalised care programs, and it provides families, parents and carers with real time access to detailed information about their child’s day. 

Families can also view and contribute to their child’s online portfolio at any time.

The curriculum at Lollipop Lane is supported by the Early Years Learning Framework, with a focus on play-based, tailored learning. It is designed to recognise the unique skills, perspectives, knowledge and expectations of every child.

The children are cared for in four different rooms:

Nippers - Babies (Ages 0 – 15 / 18 Months)

Educators work with parents to build bonds with children, establish routines and ensure a smooth transition into care. The centre has two Nippers nursery rooms where babies enjoy fun activities based around music, sensory play, gross motor activities, cognitive development and self help skills, Babies receive nurturing care in a safe and trusted environment.

Dolphins - Toddlers (Ages 15 Months – 2 Years)

This is a time where children become more independent. They develop social and language skills, begin to obtain a good understanding of words and object names, and begin to follow simple instructions. Educators provide the children with the warmth, security and stability that is so important at this age.

Seals - 2-3 Years

At 2 and 3 years old, those little sneaker feet are making great strides into independence. The Educators encourage and guide children as they learn about turn taking, sharing and toilet training. Educators encourage children to explore, play and interact with other children, develop friendships and build their social, decision-making and independence skills. 

Starfish - 4-5 Years incl Kindergarten

The centre’s kindergarten room helps children build important skills for the leap to primary school. Early Childhood Teachers utilise the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines and intentional teaching methods to foster curious and eager learners and ensure children have the skills needed for a smooth transition to primary school.
