Guardian Childcare & Education George Street is rated exceeding in the National Quality Standard and is one of seven Guardian Childcare Centres in the Sydney CBD. The Centre is conveniently located, being immediately accessible via Town Hall station – so commuting families can step off the train and walk directly into the Centre without leaving the building.

With a range of resource-rich environments, including a dedicated parents room, city views, and a range of age-specific play areas, Guardian George Street is city-based childcare that feels like home. At Guardian George Street, children and families also have the added benefit of a Preschool Program led by quality teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

The children have the opportunity to get out and about into the Sydney CBD on fortnightly excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. Favourite locations amongst the children include Hyde Park, the library, nearby cafes, and our local fire station. We have strong ties with our surrounding Sydney CBD Guardian Centres, so the children are a part of a wider community.

Our on-site cook Kamille, or Milli as she is affectionately known, prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. According to the children at Guardian George Street, Milli is the “best cooker in the world!”

Milli often shares her famous and delicious recipes on the Guardian Learning Exchange, including her Yummy ANZAC biscuits, Banana in a Biscuit and flavoured bread! In addition, our educators host regular hands-on cooking classes for the children to extend their knowledge of nutrition and encourage them to try new foods.

My son and I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the George Street community for over a year now. I have experience in the early years sector, so selecting that second home for my child was something I took very seriously – George Street is one of the best I toured and the decision to enrol was a given from the moment we walked through the doors. George Street are part of the Guardian family and to me, this means a level of quality and excellence is strived for. They take my child’s dietary needs seriously and communicate with us regularly about any little changes that arise – the communication across all aspects of my child’s day make it easier for my at drop off and pick up, I don’t ever need to worry. The educators are intuitive to both my child and my own needs, they reach out to make sure we are okay and getting what we need. The program experiences, goal setting and learning environments are warm, clean and connected to each child. I couldn’t recommend George Street any higher – they are worth every penny!
We have had our little on at George St for the last 16 months. When he first went there at 9mths, he needed support to sit up and now he runs around like a whippet with his friends all day long. He has had very loving support and care from Jessie-Lea and the George St team to help him grow and develop. In addition to his language and physical development, the centre fosters great social skills for the kids. They are a lovely bunch.
