HEALTHY EATING

We provide meals and snacks using only the freshest of ingredients and seasonal produce prepared daily by our onsite kitchen team. We support Canberra businesses when sourcing fresh produce, meat and coffee beans, keeping funds local and supporting our community.

We create seasonal menus that are healthy, tasty, and fun, which include breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. A complimentary ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast, and takeaway tea and coffee is available for parents each morning from the kitchen servery to make morning’s that little bit easier! 

Mealtimes provide a unique opportunity for children to experience new foods, tastes, and textures, and to gather socially. When children and educators come together to share a meal, an opportunity for social and language development exists along with self-help and hygiene skills.

LillyPilly is a breastfeeding friendly environment. 

Our service is nut and allergy aware, and we cater for all allergies and dietary requirements.  

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

LillyPilly’s Food for Thought program is facilitated weekly by our kitchen team in each playspace. Food for Thought is derived from a monthly theme, creating wonder, connection and fun for all things food related.

When creating a food garden, preparing and eating the produce, the children are connecting with the earth in real and positive ways.

Cooking with others creates social opportunities for conversations and turn taking.

Following recipes explores mathematical and scientific concepts.

• Children can discover origins of food, seasonality, as well as the life cycle of growing.
• Gardening allows options to explore sustainability.
• Gardening provides the children opportunities to explore the tastes of fresh food; whilst learning that hard work and patience achieves results.

OUR EDUCATORS

At LillyPilly Early Education Centre we place our people at the heart and soul of our business.  

Each educator brings with them a wealth of knowledge, character, and passion. With most educators bringing with them years of experience at other local Canberra and Queanbeyan childcare centre, family daycare and preschools. With most educators living locally in Gordon, Conder, Banks and the surrounding Tuggeranong region, we hold community close to our hearts.

Our educators are committed to providing the best quality care and education, working collaboratively with families.

We provide all educators with regular professional development to further their own personal and professional skills and qualifications as well as First Aid and CPR Training.
