Catering to children aged 2 to 5 years old, CatholicCare Early Learning Centre is part of a not-for-profit that is well established in the Illawarra community. Working in partnership with families, the centre provides quality, child-centred care to build the foundations of learning that children will carry with them for life. The focus is on holistic development, including the children’s personal, social, physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing as well as academic learning.
The brand new facilities are state-of-the-art, which creates the optimal environment for learning and play. The open-plan mixed age group setting allows the children to learn and play at their own pace while also developing their social and emotional skills.
The indoor environment is light and bright, overlooking the outdoor play yard. This area has a large sandpit, play boat, climbing equipment, mud kitchen and more. With room to run, play and explore, there is also a large shaded area for all-weather play.
Located in the grounds of All Saint's Catholic Parish, the centre is next door to Nazareth Catholic Primary School. Just a block away from Stockland Shellharbour, the centre is easily accessible and has a large car park on site for safe pick up and drop off. About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The curriculum at CatholicCare Early Learning Centre was developed in consultation with Early Start at UOW and aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. The curriculum focuses on building the foundations of learning that the children will carry with them for life.
The environment is based on values, strengths and evidence to foster each child’s individual skills and interests. The curriculum and learning spaces work hand-in-hand to inspire the children’s imagination and encourage adventurous exploration. The children are also given opportunities to develop their independence and an active role in their learning experiences.

Programs

Programs
The program at CatholicCare Early Learning Centre is integrated into the curriculum. This includes a comprehensive transition to school program. This is run year-round in partnership with two local primary schools. The children have the opportunity to attend excursions to these schools among other activities to prepare them for the step to big school.

Health & nutrition
With a menu that adheres to Munch and Move requirements, CatholicCare Early Learning Centre provides nutritious meals for the children each day. The breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack are tasty and packed with fresh and healthy ingredients. The children also help to tend to the vegetables and herbs that grow in the centre garden so they can learn about the concept of garden to plate.
