Goodstart Gateshead is committed to high-quality care and learning for children, from nursery to preschool. The centre’s key philosophy centres on relationships. To support this, every child is assigned a ‘key educator’ who understands their routine, personality and interests, to help foster individuality, independence and school readiness.
In line with an Early Years Learning Framework, centre interiors are sensory spaces, rich in learning resources. Rooms feature colourful wall art, garlands and rugs, while potted and hanging plants add a touch of nature. The dedicated and qualified educators and teachers also provide stimulating activities including art and music.
Outside, there are three well-sheltered and very spacious areas, including a covered deck. With a range of play equipment, a bridge, dry creek beds, sandpits, vegetable gardens and a worm farm, children are free to create their own adventures. They develop important physical and social skills as they play.
