I worked at Child's Play for almost two years, forming beautiful bonds with children, families, and wonderful colleagues. Sadly, my experience with higher management — especially Lucy — was disappointing. I faced unfair treatment from her, poor communication, and unprofessional comments that impacted my well-being. What really hurt the most was being denied the chance to say goodbye to the families and children I cared for. Therefore, some families might be wondering how i have just disappeared - this was the reason. Despite these challenges, I continued to give my best, especially in the most demanding rooms, and remained committed to the children and my team. The wonderful support from my fellow educators at both Tarneit and Wyndham Vale centres helped me through an incredibly difficult time and especially Indy (from tarneit centre managment) was there for me and was supportive. I wouln't have survived without you so thanks to you and the team. Lastly, I sincerely hope higher management reflects on how they treat their educators. Every staff member deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued — not isolated or disrespected for standing up for their choices. Saying 'no' should never cost someone their dignity. Read more
Hi Sonali, We’re disappointed by your review, as it leaves out critical facts and doesn’t reflect the full circumstances. You were employed with Child’s Play for almost two years and consistently paid at Room Leader level, even when not in that role. During that time, we supported your Bachelor studies, approved extended leave (including up to eight weeks during our busiest period), and offered you five teaching roles across our services — all of which you declined. When a teaching position became available at Wyndham Vale, you applied and were offered a trial despite concerns raised during your interview. After eight days, you called in sick and shortly after submitted your resignation. Your resignation letter contained serious accusations against senior management, and as a result, we made the decision to release you from your notice period immediately — a decision made to protect the wellbeing of the team and service. You were not denied the opportunity to say goodbye — the way your departure was handled was a direct result of the tone and content of your resignation letter. We always treated you fairly, gave you multiple opportunities, and supported you throughout your time with us. It’s unfortunate that your review has chosen to leave much of that out. We wish you all the best in your future.

This is the most unprofessional and greedy management I’ve encountered in my career. They are hiring experienced educators who are working five days a week, only to later inform them—just days before starting—that they’ll only be given 2-3 shifts per week (to save their running cost) with no guarantee of getting 5 days anytime soon. The center director claimed this depended on new enrollments. If that was the case, I should have been informed earlier, not right before my start date. Group compliance officer was more worried about getting center uniform rather than showing any ampthy. Did you think I had to spend $100 on police check which is a loss for me. Sam and Ian Johnson, do you think people are here just to run your business? Don't they have families to care for and personal lives to manage? To any educators considering Child's Play Child Care, make sure you confirm the number of shifts you'll get so you don't end up in the same stressful situation I faced. Read more
